Hix Presto 15, 15" heat press with heat pad and pyrometer (contact thermometer)
This has been a great heat press. Its produced a lot of mouse pads and t-shirts and continues to work well. I put a new thermostat in it which works fine but I never calibrated it. Since I kept it at the same temperature I simply used a pyrometer(included. See pic) to set the thermostat to where it needed to be and left it. It can be calibrated to match the dials I just never did. At any rate I'm including the pyrometer as well as a heat pad which is useful for pressing relatively thick and incompressible surfaces such as light-switch covers, wooden clock faces, etc. Some old metal light switch covers were placed between the rubber pad and the legs serving as risers to increase pressure for doing t-shirts but the pad is still secure and stable and these can be removed if you don't need the extra pressure. Stahls Mighty Lite Heat Transfer Press, Manual Open Clam-Shell, 11" X 15" Platen
If you have a need for a name-brand but inexpensive used heat transfer press.this might be the one! This older press is made by Stahls. A recognized, made-in-America press. It must be opened manually.no pop-up feature as on the newer ones. It was tested to power on and heat-up. But I am not a person who uses this kind of equipment so I was not able to test it further. Info from the mfg can be found under the last picture on this page. Please scroll down through 17 pictures; text between some pictures. Unit is mounted on a board and will be shipped that way as it will give a good base for packing and is only a little wider and longer than the unit itself. Unit is in very good shape; upper and lower platens are ready to go to work. Pics above and below show the 11" x 15" platen surface. Knob above adjusts pressure for lock-down. The ... moreheat control knob is currently sitting at 325 and that is the left-most position as the knob is mounted. When it rotates to the right(clockwise) it rotates beyond the maximum setting shown on the scale. It came this way and I think that rotational movement would exceed the scale setting no matter how the knob was fastened to the metal stud inside. I'm assuming the mfg made it this way. These are on the two horizontal shafts; each scrape is about 1/2" Mounting board measures about 16" x 25" weight will be around 40 pounds when packed.
