The watch runs on two batteries. ... moreWhich are now obsolete, but modern# 357 batteries can be used with spacers. I had a local jeweler install the 357 batteries without spacers to verify that the watch was operable, and the batteries were installed from May 26, 2013 to June 15, 2013. Once I decided to list the watch, I had the jeweler remove the batteries, and photographed the movement when the watch back was open. The watch has its original magnet for setting the time in the MIN and HR indent on the back of the watch. Under the clasp compartment, shown in the 7th and 8th images. Setting the time is very"challenging" and I used many words other than"challenge" when trying to set the time. I do not have the setting instructions, but they can be found on line. The watch only shows the time. Date, and seconds when the buttons on the left side, or right side, are pushed, for what I gather is that these old LED movements were large battery drains and would drain the battery quickly if constantly displayed. Pressing the left side button will display the date. And the dot between the month and day indicates if AM or PM by the location of the dot. For example in the third image, the dot between the 5 and 26 is in the down position, indicating PM. The dot between the 6 and the 15 is up, indicating AM. Pressing the right button will shows the time. And if the right button is held down, it will show the seconds. The first image shows the time. Second image shows seconds, third image shows date of May 26 in the PM, fourth image shows the date of June 15 in the AM, and the fifth image shows the watch when no buttons are pushed. There are two serial numbers on the back of the watch. One number is 201494, the other is 998974. The back of the watch is marked Hamilton Watch Co. Stainless Steel. The band is marked Champion Stainless Steel USA. The movement of the watch is marked Hamilton 955.
