Antique vintage letterpress C&M printing press cast iron stamp collectors' item
Antique Vintage Original cast iron C@M(Curtis& Mitchell) letterpress printing press. Size 10" in length. Base is 5" x 7" 4 1/2" in height, about 8 pounds in weight. This rare press is probably dated to about 1890. It has the original dark green paint finish(looks more like black in photographs) I am not quite sure how it works as a press because there is no rollers or a chase. If you are a collector of printing history this is a real find. I can't imagine many of these things survive the test of time. Manufactured by Flexo Manufacturing Company, Inc. New York, New York, USA. This is a model B runs on 110 Volts and 4 amps. Has heavy duty heating elements, embossing area is 5" x 12" shelf size is 12" x 9" deep. Made of heavy gauge steel. The Raised Printing Oven will produce thermographic raised printing in a few seconds. Simply dust the wet printed sheet or card and place in the oven until the ink raises. Easy to use, very attractive thermographic effects can be attained. It will handle cards, letterheads, weddings, announcements, menu covers, etc. up to 12 inches width. Capacity 500 letterheads per hour on any 110-120 volt current. ... moreAlso included is three containers of thermography powder.
