And the other one i cannot read what it says but the word starts with RUSSA. there are a couple dings/dents. Nothing too major. items are as pictured. i picked these up at a yard sale yesterday. For your consideration is this solid condition 1950 german British Fuel Can. The paint appears to be original. The exterior has some light surface rust in a spot on the front and the inside is dry with light spots of surface rust here and there. Here's a little history from the web on British fuel cans; World War II British Jerry Cans dated in the 1940s were almost identical to the German Wehrmachtskanisteren. No coincidence since the British copied the design. These cans had the same small diameter spout with lever cap that set it apart from the US Jerry Cans. Typical stamped markings included the British government"arrow mark" representing a sword, WD(War Department) initials of manufacturer and the date. The can is in fair shape, with a couple of small dings in it and a slight gas smell. There are a couple of spots on the bottom that are getting a little rust, but they can be sanded a little and painted with no problem. There are no leaks. RARE BLUE Jerry can Army gas can 1953 Korean War military jerry can 5 gal fuel
This is for a Military issue jerry/gas can 5 GAL. I put a brand new gasket on the lid. This is the first blue jerry can I have seen. Not sure what that means may be from another country or something but it appears to be all original if not I sure cant tell so being sold as is, the bottom is hard to make out somewhat, but says 20-5-53 which is around the Korean War era. There are small dents and pings as seen but the can is 62 years old.The inside of the can is clean with some minor rust on the inside edges and lots of surface rust on the outside as seen in picture. You can clean it up and repaint it if you desire, the I have two of these cans listed and one military issue listed until sold. Ships UPS ground within the mainland of the U.S. only.

This is a rare 1950 British War Department water gas or other jerry can. It is in a great antique or vintage condition. Does have rust on bottom and on inside. Could be used safely to hold water if reconditioned using those rust and gas tank sealers. Or used as a great decoration for a Jeep or other off road. This is an awesone piece of history, I am not sure the red is original, but it had to have been repainted a long time ago(red was used for water tanks many times) It is stamped W^D for the british war department. And the date of 1950 so post WW2. The actual manufacturer is W&W which I have not found anything about(could be a hard to find one) The lid works fine, gasket is a little old but still closes it pretty well. As viewed in the pictures it shows scuffs/scratches and minor surface corrosion that is commensurate to age. Use and storage. A small ding can be viewed on picture 10. The inside has areas of surface corrosion as viewed in picture 9. This is not a pitting flakey corrosion, but just a surface corrosion that is common for older metal gas cans. This is a genuine military USMC jerry cans marked and used for diesel fuel toward the end of it's life in the Marines. The dates of manufacture varies from the 70's and 80's The can is in decent shape and has no leak which I have detected. The can has good metal and is in good condition on the inside. The condition of can varies from can to can but these are representative of the lot. I only have two of these left out of 20 at one time. And am selling them off. THIS AUCTION IS FOR ONE CAN. These are heavy steel cans and are about 14# plus packaging to ship. They are not the thin sheet-metal ones that are made for the civilian market.
