Vintage Bashlin Power Lineman Gear Hooks Body Belt Straps Heavy Leather
Up for auction is a vintage linemans belt from Bashlin. One belt that goes around the waist and one large strap attached that goes around the pole(I think) Lots of loops for tools. Belt measures 46" end to end and the strap is 56" long. Very heavy leather with large metal hooks. The leather needs reconditioning. But otherwise good. For your consideration are these Bashlin pole tree spikes. They are aluminum. With steel parts attached to the top. The leather has scuffs and scratches on them. These were definitely used. Everything seems to be very solid on them. I am not sure about the leather, that is up to the new owner, nothing is broke or ripped, I just don't know enough about them. Stitching and metal hardware I would say that it is most likely vintage(pre 70's) The WM Bashlin metal tag is hard to read but you can see that it is clearly marked size D18, No 88. All hardware and straps seem to be in good working condition with no tears or rips. Metal hardware has begun to ... moreoxidize and the leather is a bit misshaped from being stored over time. The leather is also beginning to stiffen as well as minor cracks in only a few very small areas, all is well documented in photos above. Bashlin pole clombers 130D
This auction is for one"used" pair of Bashlin aluminum pole climbers(with upper/lower straps This set of pole climbers was purchased from an estate sale so I don't know much about their history. The climbers are aluminum alloy(much lighter than their steel counterparts) The spikes have some surface rust. There is some surface rust on the rings for the bottom straps and the upper and lower buckles, but all parts are fully functional. The metal keeper on the top of one climber has been smashed but looks functional, The Straps, pads, and gaff guards show some blemishes, but are in good condition.
