up for bid is a hand made tool makers vice. I got it from the estate of a retired tool maker. This vice opens from 0 to about 4 3/8 inches. The vice is about 7 3/8 inches long. 2 13/16 wide and 2 3/4 inches tall. The jaw depth is 1 9/16 inches from the top of the jaw to the top of the rail in the center. It is hardened and ground but does have some staining. It also has some scratches on the bottom. It has his initials scribed in the slot, they are hard to see but are there and you should know it. A thrift store find this Baroid Resistivity Meter seems to work just like it should. I couldn't easily come up with a new battery- the one it came with is dead- but I used a 9 volt in series with my 12 volt car battery and found the unit to work as I would expect it to. Filled with bottled drinking water the meter went to near full scale on the high resistance side. Once a little salt was added it showed a resistivity level of about 2. The first picture shows the test results using the salt water solution. The new owner will have to purchase a new battery to be able to use the unit. Although new at eBay. I couldn.T find anything to compare this too(no marks) Well made, no. 2 morse taper. 1-13 mm chuck capacity. Jacobs taper 33. No manufactures marks on chuck or body. The whole piece is 11 inches long and 2 3/8 dia. at largest part. The main body is knurled. A friend of mine said he thought it was used for drilling in a lathe and the clutch was for safety in case the drill jammed. As you can see in the photo when I hold the body and pull on the tang, It disengages and the chuck freewheels. Very good condition, and very well made, No chuck key included.

This is a very well built compound slide indexing jig. It has dovetail slides with adjustable gibs. The mounting face is 1-5/8" x 2- 3/16 with 4. 10-32 tapped holes.
