648. Vintage U S M Black Rubber& Plastic Gas Mask 2011– 95– 1204 69 MSA 2 E 8 We acquired this vintage black rubber. Plastic, metal, acrylic, elastic, cloth gas mask from a man who had owned it for some time,+ but had never used it. Some wear is seen on the edges of the goggles. The letters& numbers I put in the title are all on the mask. There are others“inside” or illegible markings on the cloth as at the top back of the head straps. This mask has on its front: 2 large plastic lenses encased in metal edges which clamp on the rubber– these measure almost 3 ¾” across the top by 3 ¼” vertically; the piece near the“mouth” appears to be“complete” inside& out– the exterior’s plastic“switch” turns, thereby extending the tubular& hose pieces inside the mask; I am unsure what the purpose is of the round metal objects with ... moremesh covers on either lower cheek, but inside the large rubber pouches under them are large metal pieces or“containers” which appear to connect to the exterior round metal objects with mesh covers on the lower cheeks. The rubber is supple& in good condition, other than some beginning deterioration at the top between the lenses& just at the lower corner of the rubber mask between the lower left lens& the upper corner of the piece near the“mouth” There are 3 places on either side of the mask where black elastic is attached to secure the mask to its user’s head: the hinges above the eyes, to the outside nearest the upper parts of the lenses, on the outsides on the lower rubber pouches. Each hinge is incorporated into the basic rubber mask. At the top of the wearer’s head is a double layer thick patch of textured material(3 3/16” by 1 7/8” by 1/8” to which are sewn the elastic bands which attach to the hinges on the mask: the top 2 straps now measure about 7/8” by about 10” but these are“elastic” straps which have lost most of their elasticity, so they would originally have measured a shorter length as they are now over“stretched” Their lengths could be adjusted with t

TWO ESSO BANKS - 1 Glass Block & 1 Plastic Gas Oil Advertising Promotional Neat
This auction is for TWO BANKS- ONE BID GETS BOTH! ESSO Oil Company issued these as promotional banks- the Glass Block(4-3/4 x 4-3/4 x 3-1/4 thick) was from the 1939 World's Fair- the bank shows beautifully from all sides. It does have a crack that runs just behind the center rib where the two halves join. Along the bottom and up each side, but not along the top. It is tough as iron, and it can't be pulled apart at the crack no matter how hard you try! No chips or scratches, but a couple of light fingerprints inside that must have come from manufacturing. The plastic bank looks great(5-1/4 w, 3-1/2 h, 2 deep) just normal wear from handling. The plastic can has minor scuffs and scratches the inside is clean, I don't think it's ever been used it's a little faded otherwise like new.
