Antique oil painting- artist signed- flowers in vase- knife textured
This is a very old oil painting and has knife textured flowers and vase. The painting is on a(linen? canvas that was tacked or nailed to a wood frame. The painting is very attractive with the flowers having the raised texture. I tried to take pictures that maybe you could see them well as well as the vase. The colors are good and the painting itself is intact. There is a very small straight line tear at one of the flowers on the front but I believe it could be easily repaired with a linen tape on the back. I am not sure the exact age of this painting but from the structure of the wood board frame I would think it is around the early 1900's. The canvas has frayed at the edges and it would need to be stretched( if possible) and reattached to the frame board. The The artist has signed it but I could not locate the name. If you notice; the canvas from the back side shows the oil stains from the painting. This could be a very nice piece to hang if it had a little care and repair. This Beckett oil burner has been installed in my boiler for quite a while. I just purchased the home as a foreclosure. But the burner started up this Winter and ran like a champ. I can not reasonably guess at the amount of time it has been installed or run. I am replacing it because I have natural gas in my home. And have no need to spend the extra money on#2 Heating Oil if I don't need to. I had replaced the original burner control module with a White-Rodgers 668-451 module. This was because I wanted to run a Nest thermostat in the home. And that required a common wire. If you are operating with a newer thermostat, this should be good news. If you are operating with an old mercury thermostat, it is still compatible. The tube is 4" in diameter. And 18" in length. It burns oil at 1.55 GPH, which is roughly 217,000 Btu. This handmade clear glass oil lamp chimney is about 7 1/2 inches tall and 2 7/16 at the base. It is in excellent condition. There are a few minor flea bites at the base. The decoration at the top is obviously done by hand. There are a few imperfections that add to its character: 1) the top is slightly uneven and 2) the chimney is not perfectly round. It is obviously a commerative plate of the 75th year, Diamond Jubilee(plus 40 years) of this Roman Catholic Church in western Pennsylvania. This plate includes a picture of the church as it was in 1974 as well as the Blessed Virgin Mary and 6 of the priests and the dates they served this parish. The printing and pictures are green. The plate is 10 inches printed in 1974 with a narrative on the back. It comes with an expandable plate hanger. It was produced by Kettlespings Kilns out of Alliance, Ohio with the number 2473.S. A E Mighty Midget fuel oil fish house stove
I bought this brand new from an old hardware store as a stove for my bus. I fired it up once in the bus and it worked good but wasn't big enough to heat the bus. It is a good solid stove and an interesting piece of outdoor sporting history. The AE Mighty Midget was made in Minneapolis MN and was sold by Herters and other outdoor sporting goods outlets in the 60's. It has a small dent in the fuel tank( see picture) The fuel oil shut off valve may need new seal. the stove is 40 years old. This stove was only fired once. The paint is original. It comes with all the pipe pictured and the short straight silver piece is an insulated piece. Like any stove it must be installed correctly to be useful and safe. Although this is a cute little stove it can easily burn down your shack like any other stove that is not tended to properly. This is an American Optical 50X Catalog#1016 Infinity-Corrected Oil Immersion microscope objective lens. With iris diaphragm. It has a very high numerical aperture value of 0.80. The lens is in excellent working and good cosmetic condition, and I have personally tested this objective on my own microscope. The second photo in the series shows a prepared slide of mouse cuboidal epithelium. The photo was taken with a digital camera and using this objective. You can see how sharp the image is, even out to the periphery of the field of view. The iris diaphragm allows this lens to be used for normal brightfield microscopy(iris fully open) or for dark field work(iris diaphragm closed down depending upon the microscope and dark field path in use) Here are some comments about this lens found on the Yahoo! Some of the finish has came off the holder in a few places. More Nautical Items to Come- Note My User ID I am offering an original 1900’s hand-held brass“PERKO” Signal Lantern. These lanterns were used to communicate between ships and/or ship to shore. It was built in the early 1900’s by Perkins Marine Lamp& Hardware Corp. And has their name, city, state, and the“PERKO” trademark stamped on the belt clip. Also, BOAT SIGNAL” in a very large font) is stamped just above hinged door. This lantern features two adjustable handles, belt clip, 3” round clear bullseye lens, and a rotating shutter. Included is the original brass oil font tank and burner, which has“PERKO U.S.A. signed on the wick adjusting knob. Overall, the lamp measures 8½” tall x 3½” wide x 5” deep and weighs two pounds. Originally this unit was zinc plated and painted black. The black paint is almost gone and the zinc plating ... moreis still visible in the non-ware areas. Please note that there is a dent in the hinged side of the door. With the paint and plating gone, most of the lead solder joints stand out. Considering its nice original condition the unit would be well worth repainting to the original black finish. This nautical artifact is a nice example of the superior U.S. craftsmanship during this era. A VINTAGE'ARDENT' BELGIUM OIL LAMP/ROOM HEATER. Two years ago to the day. We were instructed by'the powers that be' to totally empty and remove the whole of the content of a very remote and isolated Dartmoor cottage. The dwelling having had a'compulsory purchase order' levied upon it. When we eventually located and arrived at the property which was serviced by only a single cart track, we were astonished at the amount of antiquated and vintage items and furthermore, the years of compacted clutter that confronted us. The cottage had been unlived in for the previous two and a half years but surprisingly the contents were still totally intact and the place was remarkably dry. The reason for the contents still being in situ, intact and unmolested was the very remoteness of the place, out of site of prying eyes, if you ... moreget my drift. There was no gas, no electricity, just natural spring water and an old oil stove for cooking. The site put me in mind of the famous'Lorna Doone' classic, so intense was the isolation and its outstanding naturally beautiful surroundings. Lighting was by paraffin lamps of which there was a surfeit and many of these were fully operational. We forged ahead and completed the job, disposing of all the'tat' and removing a vast amount of'smalls' to the store. These were kept back for further investigation and to determine their commercial value, a service they never received.the best laid plans of mice and men!I must interject at this point and explain that at that same time as this clearance, checking back in the books, we had no less than four jobs on the go in that particular week and things got slightly out of hand and stuff got pushed anywhere, simply to create space! However, the'cottage' goods have now all come to light in the very back of one of the sheds and at this late date they will have to be sold off to release their latent equity and let some other enterprising soul investigate them.This offering is one of the effects of which

Fully operative oil lamp, complete with glass chimney and shade. I have drained all the fuel out of the reservoir and dried out the wick. The lamp has all the appearance of being a novelty item but it is not. It is, in actual fact, a good source of illumination should one find themselves in an electricity outage.
