This auction is for an American Colt.45 Pistol Belt and a 1943 dated Canteen Cover that was found on one of the Mariana Islands. I got these items from a man who looked of Pacific Islander decent. He told me that he found it out in the jungle. I told him that I saw a PBS Globetreckker program where islanders had a stack of live Japanese grenades waiting to be disposed of with dynamite. I was told that as kids. The fun thing to do there was to throw the rusted live Japanese grenades like skipping rocks. He said the cool thing to do was to try and get the grenades to bounce 4 times after one throw. Included in this auction is a Dug Relic condition canteen cup. I don't know where it was found. And, also there are two M-1941 USMC Backpacks. One is dated Boyt 1945 and is faded with stains and a soldier's name written on it. The other M-1941 ... moreUSMC Backpack is a 1950's era Backpack with a small rip near the strap to hold down a shovel handle. Also included s is a WW2 era USMC marked Duffel Bag. The 1950's Backpack and WW2 Duffel Bag have some damage from use. This auction also includes a USN marked Fighting Knife which would be used by both Navy Men and Marines. The Knife was Made in the USA and has RH PAL-35 as the manufacturer's mark. All the leather washers are in the handle but they have been cut on with a knife to give the fighting knife a more personalized grip. The blade has been sharpened front and back on both sides and is now a Double Edged weapon The metal yardstick is not included in this auction. I just used it as a reference for the Knife. And as a final item for this USMC lot, there is a Marine Corps Gas Can dated 1942. It is the only one I have ever seen dated 1942, most have been dated 1943 that I have seen. The stamp manufacturer's markings are also unusually presses out from the inside. It has not been repainted, has dents, and probably shouldn't be used to hold gas anymore since it is old and rusted. The one on the far left is a"USA/QMC" Army Quartermaster Corps 1945 dated Gas Can. The next one is a 1944 dated Army Water Can. The next one is a Rare"USMC" Marine Corps Gas Can dated 1951 from the Korean War. The next one is a Rare 1943 dated"USMC" Marine Corps Gas Can with a German style lid. Then the red one on the far right is a commercial"MC" United States Metal Container Gas Can. The two"USMC" Gas Cans are very rare. In my years of collecting Militaria items I have only seen eight"USMC" marked Gas Cans. Which I have owned five of them. The ones I have sold went for between $100 to $120 US Dollars. There are also in existance grey painted"USN" United States Navy marked Gas Cans, which I have only ever seen two of out of hundreds of Gas Cans. No"USN" marked Gas Can is offered in this listing, I had one once but sold it years ago. These Gas Cans are being sold as a Militaria Collectable and not as functioning Gas Cans. The Rare 1943 dated"USMC" Gas Can has some small holes on the bottom where a seem weld has failed. The Cans have been wire brushed and repainted. Most collectors with vintage vehicles do this sort of thing to restore Gas Cans that they have on their vintage Jeeps. Up for auction is a Blitz USMC metal 5 gallon gas or diesel can. Includes a flexible metal spout. They are never very flexible. But are great to have! Bottom reads"USMC, DOT-5B, 5-89" In good condition with some scrapes and paint chipping on some outside parts, but no real dents. If you look at the photos of the cap, you'll see it has been so lightly used there is still original paint on the inside threads, and the outer stickers are there! The inside is about as clean as a used can can get, with a little bit of residue in the bottom edges, and a very thin dried gas coating on part of the bottom. The cap needs a new rubber gasket, but the spout has a rubber gasket, and you can trade off. The cap and spout have some oxidation on the outside, as you'll see in photos. I have a nice old jerry style gas can. On one side towards the top is W^D. It is an arrow pointing upwards between the W and the D. Below that is the year 1951. In the middle of the can inside raised metal is RTB and below that CP&F. I don't know what any of this means but hopefully someone will who may be interested in it. Someone has repainted it. It has a clamp type lid and the can is vented which I think you can see in the picture. It does not have a spout and was not made for one. The clamp locks down the lid and doubles and a rest to put your can on while you are pouring gas.This can does have numerous dents. I charge only actual shipping charges. No strap for tray Could use some TLC and a bath. The pictures show some brown gunk on metal cap.I cleaned with some chem tool.Will update picture when I get a chance. The Condition Description again. Surface rust all around. Inside looks clean.Mount tray side is bent some. Does not affect use. No Strap. End of pour spout has some curls on it. As if some one was forcing end, Does not affect usage. At bottom seam of can is what seem to be globs of glue or adhesive from the sealed bottom. Item had fuel in it when I received it. so no leaks at bottom. Any input or questions gladly received. For auction is a solid authentic Vietnam era Jerry can. 5 Gallon can. Clearly marked ICC 5L, USMC 20-5-68 on the bottom and US G on both sides. It was about 1/4 filled with diesel when I found it at a garage sale. It's solid with minimal rust and only one sizable dent in the front, see photos. There are other dings and scratches, but nothing major. It's Grass Green in color which I believe is original. The bottom is Olive Green colored. The lid screws down tight and is usable as is. Right now the lid is off and I'm in the process of drying it out. By the time this auction ends it might need a few more days. Lots of pictures. Ask me questions if you have them. This auction is for a United States Military Gas Can. The Gas Can offered for sale is an Army USA/ QMC Quarter Master Marked Gas Can dated 1945. This Gas Can has been repainted. Collectors of Military Vehicles tend to do this so they have a nice looking Gas Can to go with their vintage Truck. Half-Track, or Jeep. They also don't keep Gas in their Cans since they are just for looks. The Gas Can offered here for sale has some rust on the inside and probably shouldn't be used to hold fule any more. It does come with a Gas Can Strap, and a Water Bucket. The Water Bucket is old and damaged from use. Some rips can clearly be seen in the photos. Condition: This item is in used condition and may have defects such as stains. Moth holes, dirt, dents, scratches, etc. These items are 70 years old and things slowly get destroyed by time.
