Sign is marked Veribrite Signs Chicago New York Dallas 4-49 Sign was made April 1949 29 1/2 long by 28 3/4 wide. Look at the very bottom the point is smushed by 1/16 inch. The two holes were the store owner mounted the sign on the sides are strong and sturdy. When I bought the sign in the mountains of Virginia at a little store along the New River it had a wire running between the holes to hang it on the wall. But repairable by a restoration service. It has a tin wrapped wood frame with a gasoline pricing dial ranging from.15- 26 cents that calculates up to 20 Gallons. The Pricing Dial can be flipped and reads from.27- 38 cents per gallon on the opposite side. Size is 17" X 23" A great piece of History! Snow chains were invented in 1904 by Harry D. Weed in Canastota. NY. This handsome Hess Gasoline plastic toy truck features working lights and a neat horn with the use of 2"C" 1.5 Volt alkaline batteries which are included with this auction. This truck was manufactured in 1990 in China for the Amerada Hess Corporation. It is made of heavy duty plastic painted in an attractive white and green color. It is well-made and there are many fine details which were put into it. It measures 14-1/2" long( 36 cm) x 3" wide( 8 cm) x 3-1/2" height( 9 cm) There is a handy on/off switch on the bottom of the truck to turn the lights and horn on-and-off. It has nice rubber tires and it rolls smoothly on a flat surface. He is used but in very good to excellent condition. I purchased this recently from an old timer who has an amazing collection of the great old hit& miss engines. He is starting to sell off as the kids have no interest.
