The overall objective is to preserve as much as the old tool or item with a good balance of lifetime patina as possible without the use of power tools. Metal is initially cleaned using mineral oil. After letting the oil“soak in” for a day or so. The item is wiped cleaned. A few items should be noted. The first is this gentle process may not remove all rust or dirt. Here is one of the most unusual gas pump nozzles that I have ever seen! I have been around gas pumps and related items for years and this is the first I have ever seen! As you can see from the pics. It does have, what appears to me, to be Chinese writing on it. It is aprox. 18" in total length and aprox. 9" tall from the very top to the bottom of the handle area. The other interesting item on it is that it has a reset knob on the side that resets the litres measurement. As to condition, it has been used and has some scratches and scuff marks. The nozzle tip on the front does come off. I am going to remove the one side plate and send it to work with my wife. She works with some ladies from China. Hopefully they will be able to tell us what it does say on the side plate. When I get an update, I will post it to the listing on Monday ... moreevening. Buckeye Fig 800-B R Vintage Brass & Copper Handle and Nozzle Service Gas Pump
Up for your consideration is this vintage brass and copper Buckeye Gas Pump Nozzle. On one side it shows the model Fig. 800 B and the other side shows an R(See Pics) Measures about 16" long. Handle squeezes nice. Could use a good polish. Put it to use or hang in your man cave. I am pretty sure this is early 1950's. Wow !! Awesome Old Antique Solid Brass ~BUCKEYE~ FIG 800-B Gas Pump Fuel Nozzle
This is an excellent old BUCKEYE solid brass fuel nozzle. It looks to be in great shape. It has not been tested. The hand handle inside it does not have sloppy movements. Plunger feels tight like it should work. The threads inside back end are undamaged. This is very heavy. It weighs right at 4 lbs. as you see it. It does not have a lot of scars on it. It just needs some cleaning and polish if wanted. I will let that up to the new owner. Great for an collectoor showcase. This is 17 1/2" long from the tip of the nozzle over the top to the back side.
