Gas Utility Meter Cubic Feet Analog Dial Face Cutaway Gear Demonstration Tool
Item: Analog Gas Meter Demonstration Tool. I'm honestly not really sure how you would describe this item but it's pretty cool. It's a cubic feet meter dial face from a home utility gas meter with exposed plastic gears and a small crank attached through the back on one. This crank allows you to turn it and watch how the gears turn each other to give a meter reading. It's a very interesting thing to see how all the reduction gears cause the largest dial to move imperceptively slow no matter how fast you're spinning the crank. I believe this was originally used by a gas company as a training aid for new employees to demonstrate how a meter functions. The face plate and backing are metal and appear to be real from an actual meter. Most meters I've seen have metal gears though whereas this has different colored plastic ... moregears which I presume was intentionally done to make it easier to see them turn. Condition/Pictures: Please take a look at pictures to better see the condition as all photos are of the ACTUAL item you will receive! Face plate has some wear and scrapes. The brass funnel is slightly oblong in shape, vs. being completely round. Therefore, making the brass funnel a bit tweaked& out of shape. Not sure if it is in working condition or not. The warranty on the other three sensors is expired. This listing includes the meter with alkaline battery adapter(uses three AA-size alkaline batteries) along with protective rubber boot and one inlet filter. There is no AC adapter. This old meter cover was found while metal detecting the site of a house that was built in 1925. It is 3 inches in diameter. Solid brass and very heavy. Has the Worthington spread wings insignia. It has a few scratches but is in good overall condition.

Up for auction is a vintage Duncan Miller model 60 parking meter. It has been striped.Primed and painted then given a Pontiac Firebird theme. The Duncan 60 was used in the 60's and 70's. Working 4 hour timer. Top dome has 24 leds to light it up.very cool at night. 12 volt adapter included. Also comes with a weighted desktop stand, the bottom is felted so it wont scratch your surface.
