From an old Gas Station located in St. Amant. La. is this RARE Gilbarco air meter. This one has the the paper scroll pressure dial. When you turn the handle on the side you dial in the amount of air you want and then fill your tire. The dial turns freely and goes up to 112 lbs. This is in original condition as it was found in the old closed up gas station. This has some wear and paint loss but no dents.I'm not sure if the black on the side is over spray from paint or paint loss. I AM SELLING THIS AS A NON WORKING AIR METER as I have no way to test it. Gilbarco Calco-meter 96C antique project gas pump
This project pump has all of the internal parts including the nozzle. There is some rust on the bottom of the side panels but the cast iron base seems to be solid. All of the internal parts are their but it is missing the both the front and back panels. The face plates are in pretty good shape. No I 300 ft(possibly 800) Patented Dec 13-92 The dial has a small attached tag marked Ohio Gas Co. M-00668. The gauge case is stamped 334973. The three body panels are marked 502-M4. The meter is 17" tall including base and gauge. The meter body is approximately 13" in diameter. The meter needs to be cleaned. There is no structural damage. No cracks or warping of the cast iron parts. The porcelain dial is free of damage. You can find more information on this meter by doing a patent search. The patent number is 487907. Being offered is a rare Nash No. 1 natural gas meter/recording index. This meter was manufactured by the National Meter Co. of New York. USA. Patent#715398. This piece was designed by Lewis H. Nash who went on to found the Nash Engineering Company. In South Norwalk, CT. He was also the holder of over 100 United States Patents for pumps, engines and other equipment. He was also a member of the Connecticut House of Representatives. This meter stands 4 1/4 inches tall. 3 1/2 inches deep, 3 1/2 inches wide, and weighs 2 lbs and 2.4 oz. The housing and door are made of cast brass. With a glass viewing window. The internals all appear to be machined out of brass as well. This piece contains the recording index only. This unit is identical to the classic 50’s model 97 series with wall mount. It is of the original construction completely rebuilt using the original cast iron parts and inner workings that function. However it hasn’t been connected to air since testing and calibration many years ago.
