For your consideration is a vintage Morris Industries Cast Iron Well Monitor Cover from Plains NJ with Flange. It is smaller than a man hole cover and is approximately 10 inches across. Including flange length. The cover is about 8.5" in diameter. Research shows they started in about 1958. Don't often see them with the flange. Check out the pictures for condition. Old Vintage Standard Service Gas Station Attendants Hat Cap Rare Oil Sign
What a great Standard Service Gas Station Attendants cap. Made by the J. Natow Uniform and Cap Company Detroit. Mi. I have not seen this patch before so I am not sure of the exact age. Patent on inside metal reinforcement 2154210 which puts it into the 1939-1940 range, probably made in the early 1940's. Remarkably nice shape. It has some soiling and light wear for an item this old. One small hole on the top right side edge. The bill is firm with a couple of nicks and underside is clean. Inside band has very light wear. Buttons are firm and red band tight. The patch has a few loose strings and some soiling. Size 7 but I wear a 7 1/4 and it seems a little smaller to me. Great cap for the Standard or Gas/Oil collector. I have not tried to clean it in any way. I have left it up to you to either clean it or leave it the way it is. Item sold ... moreas is and as found. Honda 1973 SL70 K1 CLEAN Inside Used Gas Fuel Tank With Dents Cap and Petcock
Please read entire short text* 12 pictures. Many dents but CLEAN inside. No rust at all. Cap has small'dots' of corrosion. Petcock may need to be cleaned and is free, as in thrown in for no charge. It is missing the brass hose fitting which is a press fitting. Cap mounting surface of tank is rough and has a small hole, see pic# 11. Use as is or restore. The only other rust free tank on all of ebay is the nos one priced a tad high at just under $1500. This tank is physically the same for all three years of manufacture. 1971 thru 73. OEM Honda. It had moderate rust on inside so I cleaned with my home built machine(dry process. NO chemicals before, during or after) There will always be residual dust so use of an inline filter(s) is advised. Buyer will need to remove one coffee filter which wicks up moisture during storage. Pictures should ... moreanswer any questions but if not, don't hesitate to ask. I could do like most sellers and grab a dusty tank off the shelf. One with dents and rusty inside. Take a few out of focus pictures and list at a high price.
