Can't find another one so i'll call it rare! This is a very heavy white metal? given to a New Jersey Standard Esso service station for a sales contest in 1935. It is made like the early Stannard Esso logo. It originally maybe had flames at the top where it looks as though something is missing. Awesome detailed eagle with 5 1/4" wing span. It stands 15" tall and the base is 4" on all sides. I'm not sure what the original color was but there is still original red lettering on the Esso. It reads New Jersey Division Standard Esso Stations Sales Contest 1935.

Not sure what this obsession I have with old beat up and rusty cans is lately but they are fascinating to me. My Husband thinks it's crazy and that I have been watching too much American Pickers but I have to admit it when I go to Auctions and Estate Sales all the Men want the old cans. They never expect a woman to take it away from them but I am hooked on them. Here is yet another beautiful dented. Rusty, paint peeling with paint splatters old metal Gas Can. I would not recommend it for use as the area where the nozzle screws on is deformed.
