This is a complete Sherline 4000 metal lathe. It has inch dials and some accessories. It doesn't appear to have been used much since there's no marks on the table from the tool post. The drill chuck wasn't even opened yet. Has some light surface rust and stains on some of the bare metal surfaces but still looks good. The variable speed motor works well and runs smooth. Everything turns freely and has no wear or signs of use. The only thing it will need is some square tool bits. Very nice quality. Made in the USA. It measures total 44" It is 6" deep from outside to outside ways and 1-1/2" gap in between. The legs are unique due to the"shelf" Which appears to be cast as one piece. The steady rest is brass(as far as I could see) The chuck is a 6-1/4" E.Horton. The tailstock moves left to right by turning the key which is included. There are 25 gears included. One small gear has 2 half broken teeth. One small gear has small chips on 3 teeth. 2 leather belts are included as well as a chunk of machined metal that fits on the bed. As you can see. The countershaft is intact and quite nice looking. This very nice looking lathe was assembled for use ... moreand well cared for. I believe there is quite a history behind it and would love to find out some of it's mystery. If anyone recognizes it. I sure would appreciate hearing from you!
