Up for sale is an amazing example of early American made lab ware. This dewar was made sometime between 1945 and 1960 according to my research. It is in top notch shape both aesthetically as well as functionally. The tag is faded but Thermos is the manufacture. The pictures speak for themselves. This dewar is in fantastic condition. If you are looking for a quality dewar this vessel is easily on par with Pope. You will not be disappointed. Basin depth = ~7.75" Does not include lid CONDITION: This is a used item and has various cosmetic signs of use such as some scratches. Scuffs. This item is essentially identical in terms of shape, size, and design to the Pope Scientific No. 8621 dewar flask. The"Thermos" and"Pyrex" brand markings have faded and are barely visible. There are six spots around the flask, each measuring about 1cm square, where the internal shiny metal coating seems to be worn away or something. I'm not sure how to explain this, they're on the inside of the hollow vacuum area, such that when I rub my finger on them, they cannot be felt at all. One of the spots can be seen in the picture, next to ... morethe Pyrex brand marking. These spots to not seem to effect the integrity or functionality of the flask in any way. The rubber coating on the bottom of the glass does not cover it all the way. I don't know if it peeled off at some point, or if it was just made that way. Either way, it does effect functionality of the flask. This item is being sold AS IS. No returns or refunds. But of course ebay's buyer protection always applies if items are not as described.
