Vintage Bilt-EZ Tin Building Architectural Kit. Set No.OO, Original Box 1920s Picked this up at a recent estate auction. These sets were built around 1924 and were actually fairly easy to use and appear to have been designed to go with the Lionel& Ives train scale of the time. The first picture above shows a pre-War Lionel tinplate caboose and track(O-scale) for comparison. TRAIN& TRACK ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THIS SALE. The work by using square floor sections(part#1) which are held together with"Frictions" part#2- tin sections that slide into the floor sections(see Instruction pictures) Walls are then slid into the floor sections which hold everything together. This set has Parts#2- Frictions(26 in this set) Floor sections#1(28) Windows#4(12) Windows#3(30) Walls#5(22) Windows#6(4) which actually look like doors, Balconies#10(2) ... moreand Cornices#11 A, B& C(15) Curiously the Parts shown in the instructions have no parts with doors. This is set 00 which the second size set in a series that included O, OO, A,B,C,D, E, F with F being the largest. The instruction book mentions that individual parts cost between one and five cent each, so children were encouraged to expand"all by yourself without having to bother mother or father. There is nothing in the instruction books or box to indicate how many parts there were supposed to be in this set, so the counts shown above for each part is what came with this set and I don't know if it's"complete" or not. Box has issues, missing one end flap on top, top also one corner not connected, one flap is partly torn. Lettering or label inside top is missing, parts are still visible. Metal parts show use and some slight oxidation(rust) Instruction book appears to be missing page 1/2 and covers are loose from book. Parts are made of very thin steel and have edges which are probably not safe or appropriate for today's children. Whole set could use a wash. Set shows use in that parts are not perfect in shape as they are easily bent(please see pi

This is an N-scale model of an old city hospital building. Appearing to be typical of the early 20th century. St. Mary's Hospital" Made in(West! Germany by Model Power. Shows how old the kit is. Since East and West Germany re-united in 1990! This kit was purchased around 1996. It has been opened. Meaning the outer shrink wrap was removed to examine the kit. I have personally done a thorough parts inventory and verified that all parts are present. All parts are attached to the sprue trees. See photo of organized parts. Molded in multiple colors of plastic including white. Red, dark gray and light gray. Sheets of flexible thin clear plastic are provided to make windows. Paper sheet provided with window curtains and other details.
