The ceilings are 8' downstairs. 7' upstairs. And 7' at the peak of the attic. It has some of the original flooring, all of the original rafters, and floor joists. Early 1800s Two Story 25 x 30 Hand Hewn Oak Dovetail Corners German Cabin This cabin is an unsual 25 by 30 feet. Which is very large for being from the late-1700s to early 1800s. It is a full two stories with an attic that is nearly 11 feet at the peak, which would make for ample room for a bedroom on the third floor. The cabin is hand hewn oak with dovetail corners and extremely wide logs, measuring an average of 10-12" and up to 17" Another rare feature is that the ceilings are unsually high for a cabin of this age. Measuring 8.5' downstairs, and 7.5' upstairs. You will see in the photos that there are beams that come out of the front of the building. Those were the floor and ceiling joists to a second story porch. They can be cut off. But we left them in the event someone did want to build a second floor. There were also ... moreseveral hundred feet of original flooring that was able to be salvaged as well as the porch columns. Hand Hewn Pre Civil War childs Saw Horses
2 Hand Hewn children's saw horses. Have been told Pre Civil War era by three different collectors. Nice shape for age. small paint spots I decided to leave them alone. Legs fit in nice but some are a little loose. They have square head nails in them. Pegs for legs are amazing. Someone sat and did it all by hand! Pics tell it all. This is an early 1800's hand hewn dog trot log house that will be numbered and dismantled. Delivery is available or pick up yourself. The dimensions are 38'x15' with each log pen being 15'x15' with an 8' space between them. The house is 1 1/2 story tall and has heart pine and oak flooring throughout. The bottom two courses of logs are oak all around and the rest is pine. The logs are in excellent condition with only a few needing to possibly be replaced or repaired. Vintage 1800's Hand Hewn Log Cabin - Oak & Chestnut
An Oak and Chestnut cabin and a second cabin bought just for the logs. Both the cabin and the logs are from structures that were originally sited in Western North Carolina dating from mid to late 1800s. Two structures for sale. 1) The pictured cabin is dog trot consisting of a 16'x20' 1.5 story section and a 14'x16' 1 story section(see floor plan) originally purchased for $22.500. Logs are 12- 14" face and 7- 8" thick. 2) Second cabin included is not pictured. But consists of a set of 20'x30' of extra logs to expand and augment the listed cabin. These logs are primarily Oak with some Poplar or Hemlock in the mix. In addition to being longer overall, the majority of these logs are larger- up to 20" wide and 12-14" thick.
