Steel trusses are becoming more and more popular everyday for obvious reasons. They are stronger and allow more clearance than wood trusses. They are much easier to install because there's no measuring and placing of hangers. They are ready to install and you can quickly install the wood purlins in the drop in clips. I think the appearance is better as well. Notice our kits are fully trimmed out to keep the bottom board and gable boards from rotting. 500 year old Tudor Oak Barn Frame (dry-stored - without land)
A 15th Century 3-bay Sussex barn frame of oak construction. Professionally dismantled with timbers individually numbered ready to be removed from present dry storage in Surrey UK and reinstated on the buyers own land History Originally stood as a granary on staddle stones(hence preserved from damp) at Hill Farm House. Cowfold, Sussex UK and is shown on John Speed's map of 1610. It has been professionally dismantled and dry-stored. All timbers are individually numbered and supplied with scale drawings to assist re-erection. Ancient oak replacement timbers(where necessary) are available subject to further negotiation. I purchased the frame in 2007 for £65.000(invoice available for inspection by interested parties) but am now looking to sell rather than re-erect on my land. Antique Cupala Barn Topper Architectural Salvage Industrial Decor Repurpose
Up for auction is a head turner. It is an antique metal Cupala. It has such a cool look to it, it has a spike on the top(and one on the side) which may have served as a lighting rod point, to to keep birds off, and a great gazebo type design with bent metal ripples around the top. It has a perfect patina. It measures about 23 inches tall, so it is not a beast like some Cupalas, the inside looks like it has a damper in it that opens and closes. Two Metal Buildings, 80'X160'X18' Arena and 80'X60 Hay Barn, disassembled
Up for sale today are two used metal buildings. One that was used as an arena and one that was used as a hay barn. Eave height is 17' 8" peak height is 21' These buildings were both sheeted on two sides, an endwall and a sidewall on each building. I took these buildings down 10 years ago, got permitting and engineering done on them, and have never put them up. They comply with UBC1997, Roof Live load 20 psf, Ground snow load 28.57 psf, Roof snow load 20 psf, Wind Load 85mph Exposure"C" and seismic Zone 3. There are no bolts or screws included; new ones are required per code, however they are easily obtainable. There are three wind damaged roof sheets that will need to be replaced. I intended to add some skylights so it wasn't an issue, but I will be happy to help the buyer facilitate new replacement sheets for the ... moredamaged ones. There is an American Buildings Factory about 10 miles from where these buildings are stored so pickup can be arranged for new sheets. For those who are seriously interested I will send the design specifications separately so compliance with local codes can be verified. The arena has 4 Sliding doors, 2 on the endwall and 2 on the sidewall. there are three moment/portal frames along the sidewall of the arena to provide rigidity. I had the footings engineered and the rebar bent. Footings must be engineered per specific site, but all calculations are included to help with your local engineer, and these were designed for a sandy soil and high wind loads, so compliance shouldn't be a problem. The bent rebar was over $5,700 and is included in the sale. I can help load out, however an all terrain forklift will need to be rented or provided by the buyer, again I can help facilitate that. I want to sell these buildings together as a pair. The start price is well less than a quarter of what these buildings would cost new. This metal building is just over 58 feet wide. 36 feet deep and 16 feet tall at the peak. It is in excellent condition! Big bay openings, as you can see from the photos, but there are no doors. THis does have one man door. It has been up about 6 years. The cost was $13,000 installed. The metal has no dents or holes. The treated 6x6 posts are concreted into the ground and concrete slab so they would have to be cut off at the concrete pad level. You could use pier posts to re-install on your site or any number of ways to keep the same height. Front is higher than the back. This property in Oregon City,Oregon is being developed and this has to be removed by the first of April. We are unaware of any brand name for this building. This is kind of a difficult listing to create. So please bare with me. Let me start by explaining the situation. I contracted a job cleaning up a private property located in Springdale/Zion Natl. Park Utah. Th ere were/are 6 buildings on said property( 2 homes. 4 shops) One of the 2 homes is/was a double wide trailer with a pitched roof on it. Long story short I decided before I demolished the houses that I would remove all of the sheet metal roofing. Being as it was beautiful 24 GA metal with only 5 penetrations through it( 12" stove pipe. 4" water heater flue pipe and 3. 2" sewer vents) Long story even longer. I got the roofing off and found these beautiful manufactured scissor trusses. The trusses are in excellent used condition. No water or bug damage. The mobile home is a 24' x 60' and the trusses hang over 3' ... moreon each side. So they are approximately 30' wide. There are 32 trusses in all. The pitch is 4/12 on the top/roof side. I don't know the exact rake on the bottom/ceiling side. I'm guessing about a.5/12. Maybe a 1/12, the trusses are 6 to 8" above the center of the trailer. The trusses only touch/attach to the trailer on the exterior walls. Makes for easy. Clean removal, cut the 6 nails on each end with a sawzall, cut the blocking out with a sawzall or steel cutting skil saw. This way no nails will need pulling. There will be no woo d damage. No nails sticking out. Ready to fly onto your roof. There is alotta stuff to talk about. And I would rather do it over the phone or in person.
