The case measures 19.25 inches long by 4.5 inches wide by 7 inches high. It was made almost entirely out of wood and metal. Vintage or Antique Sterling Container with Fenestrated Top. In Good Vintage Condition. Weight is 4.4 ounces total. Please note that it IS inscribed: Looks like CcLtd, 1861-1961, not sure what that means. Ok folks. What do you call this container? I cannot find anything like it to tell me! I am listing this as STERLING because although not marked as STERLING. It does have the maker's stamps with the walking lion, which appears to mean it IS sterling. This is not my area of expertise so please speak up with corrections! The stamps show: AC Co LTD inside an oval(Probably Alexander Clark and Company) An anchor(Birmingham) walking lion(sterling) and an L( not sure) and an E(maybe a date stamp? World War II Era navy ship pictures on biscuit container
A pre-WWII era Sunshine Biscuit container with pictures of various ships of the US fleet. Including the USS Arizona, USS Lexington, USS West Virginia, and several others. The top of the tin is graced by the USS Idaho. A neat little"must-have" for the Pacific War buff. The container is very worn as it was simply an older version of our current cardboard and plastic food containers, but the ships are still clearly visible on the lid and sides. The pride in the fleet among Americans of that era is clearly evident. A great addition to any WWII collection, as the fates and exploits of these ships are now part of the history of that great conflict.

Antique BRASS? COPPER? Container Ship? Fireman? Fancy Maker's Mark Griffin Armor
I'm not exactly sure what this is but it's very heavy and must be copper or brass because a magnet doesn't stick to it and it has both an orangey tone and a brassy color to it as well as a dark greyish. I thought maybe it was from an old fire station. Also occurred to me that it might be from a ship as it's heavy and feels solid. As though it's meant to be someplace where it won't tip over. A magnet does not stick to any part of it- even the parts where what looks like the overlay has come off. I thought maybe it was iron underneath but magnet doesn't stick to that either. It has two loops about 3" in diameter that are bolted on- a magnet doesn't even stick to the bolts. It stands 10" tall and the base is 4 1/2" across. The cylinder body is about 2 1/2" across. It has a turned lip with a ... morevery. Very tiny cut in it, which is about the width of a pin- see edge on pic of the side of the cylinder where only one handle is seen. There is a fancy hallmark or maker's mark on the underside. Which looks like: a griffin inside a shield on the bottom of hallmark, armor above him( visor and chest piece) a griffin above the armor whole hallmark surrounded by vines or ivy or holly? We are downsizing our vast collections. Here is a nice mustard dip or container from the Pacific and Occidental Shipping Lines. The outer container is silver plate and the inner insert is cobalt blue glass. This would have been used on their passenger ships as part of the table service. The glass insert is in fair condition and does show a small bit of wear.

Early ship captains hand painted enamel tea box c1820 Early ship captains hand painted enamel tea box c1820. This tea box or container is all original and in excellent condition. There is some minor wear. Which is to be expected of a box from this period. It retains its three removable pewter tea containers, one with a slide, and two with covers and inserts. The top has the initials of the owner along with an anchor, which means the owner was a ship captain. Measures 9.5 inches wide, 5.5 inches deep and 5.25 inches high. The design is very similar to that of the Japanese Edo period(1603- 1867) Hello. I would be happy to have it shipped for you. 1 rare slide Maersk container ship LONDON (ex-BENALDER)
The seller is offering a very rare original Kodachrome slide of the Greek-flag container ship LONDON as shown while in US waters in March 1999. Built in 1972 as the British-flag Ben Line Steamers container ship BENALDER. She became LONDON MAERSK in 1993 before being sold IN 1999 to Mayflower Navigation Co who renamed her LONDON under charter to Maersk as depicted on the present slide. She was broken up at Shanghai in 2001. This remarkable sharp sunny view was taken from shoreside with a 35mm SLR camera using a high quality 50mm standard lens. I can attest that this slide is devoid of marks, scratches and blemishes as well as to its high quality, much better than this low resolution scan.
