HO scale Scratch built/kit-bashed old-time factory building
We recently acquired a collection of scratch-built HO scale buildings from the layout of a master modeler from Florida. Many of the details are commercial castings or laser-cut rails and fences. Roof details abound. Some have dozens of figures. Tables, stoves, bars, chairs, mirrors, and signs. They were all removed from an operating layout, and some of the details have suffered from handling. Wherever possible. Such defects will be noted, but not everything will be mentioned– please look carefully at the photos! All the buildings would be appropriate for a late 19th century or early 20th century layout. My husband. In fact, will be using a few of them on his modern layout to depict a Western-theme tourist town. Such as Virginia City, Nevada, or Jamestown, California. This one is a fairly large manufacturing building that measures about 10 ... moreinches wide by about 9 inches deep. And is almost 5 inches tall over the ridge of the roof. The walls are all of resin castings. And look like Design Preservation or similar origin. The roof is of cardstock covered with sandpaper. The windows are all unglazed. But all have mullion castings in the openings. The front door has an arch window over head. And the window over the door is round. One or two courses of sandpaper are missing from the roof ridge. And several smoke jacks for the roof have come loose but are included. It looks as though there was an awning over the front door. And the right side of the building is missing three loading doors and the roof overhang. Some of the interior walls need to be reinforced or reattached. The walls are stained a medium grey. And the roof is mostly dark grey. The resin castings make this a very heavy building. But it’s also very interesting, and would fit well onto any period of layout! Powered by The free listing tool.
