Old Surge Electric Fencer Farm Barn Cattle Hit Miss Gas Engine Sandwich Milker
This is a rather scarce original Surge fencer from the Babson Brothers Company in Chicago. IL. It is in excellent original condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind except for the small light bulb in the center of the bottom. I'm sure this would be an easy replacement. It is a very unusual design in that it has a glass bubble on it like an early electric meter. It measures about 6 inches in diameter and about 6 inches tall. The cord is a bit frayed so I didn't plug it in but I see no reason that it shouldn't work and it wouldn't be real tough to replace the cord. Surge is most noted for their dairy and milking equipment but also offered several livestock related items like this. They bought out the Sandwich Manufacturing company that made the engines and many other products including the Pine Tree milker. This ... morefencer would be an eye catching addition to your early dairy collection especially if you collect Sandwich items! Here is an old Surge stainless steel milker bucket. Comes with everthing in the pictures. The bucket itself measures about 12 inches tall with handle and 15 1/2 inches in diameter. Good shape. Just a couple small dings and scratches. The cover looks good and is marked surge. The 4 milker cups are all marked surge. The pulsator is marked surge and is untested, but it comes with a check valve and O-ring. You'll need to buy new rubber infations and hoses. Sold as is, untested. SANITARY Stainless Steel bucket holds 5 gallons, may have scratches and dings as they are used, but VERY SANITARY easy to clean and in great shape. This machine includes a Rebuilt Pulsator. I am including the 4 original removed Short Air Tubes. 4 Original Inflations, Lid Gasket O ring for C pulsator and pulsator kit as a back up, these have been thoroughly cleaned and sanitized, and are in perfect working order and can be used as replacement parts. This item is in good condition but there is one spot on the front where it is coming apart just a little bit but that doesn't go into the main bucket so it does not leak. Up for auction is a vintage THE SURGE MILKER. Stainless steel,milk bucket/pail for dairy cows or goats. 5 gallon? It has a seam. There is a hinged-cover. Puls ator with check valve. And 4 metal shell cups. 3 of the cups are marked SURGE, the 4th is not marked SURGE- but is the same except it is marked:PATS. PEND. One of the SURGE cups air-nozzle tips has been welded. But the weld is firm and strong. The handle appears to ha ve been welded/repaired. But it too appears to have been welded very expertly, is firm and strong. This was an auction purchase, so I do not know it's history. The bucket is marked:THE TRADE MARK REG. SURGE MILKER U.S. PAT. OFF. B abson Bros. Co. No.S296763 It is clean and shiny. Has some dings and dents. No cra cks nor holes. It was filled with water for the overnight- holds liquid perfectly.
