Buckingham Tree Pole Lineman Climbing Belt and Bashlin Lanyard
This is a Buckingham climbing belt and a Bashlin Industries Lanyard. The belt is a size 28. I do not know what the size chart is for the sizing. I have a size 33 waist and this belt is too big for me in the smallest hole by a couple of inches. I would guess it a 35-36 up to a 43-44 waist size. It is dated 11/98 and it is in excellent condition. The lanyard is a Bashlin. It is made of two very heavy leather straps sewn together with what looks like may be a nylon material between the leather straps. It has the numbers 78-C on it. It is adjustable from 4 foot to 6 foot. I would rate it in good condition for it's age as well. Because of the nature of these items they are being sold"as is" no warranty is expressed or implied. Neetsfoot oil or other good shoe oil would make them a lot nicer. Old vintage equipment that I am sure was fine when it was retired. But I would not sell it for use and consider it a collector's item only out of safety concerns. I would have loved to had this setup when I was a kid!

Buckingham Bucklite Titanium Spurs. 2 3/4" tree gaffs. Come with bottom straps only. I used these with aluminum"caddy" pads and put some spray foam on them to keep them from rattling. That's the residue you see in the pics. I had a knee operation so I switched over to pole gaffs last year and don't use these anymore. Gaffs could probably use a touch up but I liked them without a needle point. These sell for $349 new.

For sale is a lot consisting of utility pole or tree climbing gear. The spikes have a few different markings on them. The leather is stamped"F.H. Hall Linemen's Supply. Grove City, PA. Which is probably the retailer where they were purchased. The shaft by the spike says" Mine Safety Appliances Co. Pitteburgh, PA. MSA-Brooks Climber" The leather looks to be in good shape with no holes. Tears, cracks or rips. The spikes are extra sharp with no sign of filing or any gouges. The green and white saddle harness belt looks like it hasn't ever been used and is marked" Niemeyer Corp. Newton Sq. PA. 120 Small. There is a very faint mark beside it that reads"Apr 1988. The leather is in great shape with no cracks. Rips, or tears and everything looks like new. The leather belt in the last picture has the canvas belt that ... moregoes around the tree. The canvas belt has no marks on it. But the leather is marked"Belt. LC-23-E Size:20 R.H. Burke Co. 01-H-1771-63 B-259" It appears to be in bad condition at first glance. But after looking at it closer, it looks like it hasn't ever been worn because there are no marks or stress cracks in the belt where a buckle would have been bearing down on the leather. It just looks like it has been in storage or in someone's closet for a long time. But the leather could be cleaned up and would be in great shape. There are no holes, tears, or rips anywhere in the leather or canvas. I have no idea if it is safe to climb with these or not. I put them on one time and went outside to climb a tree. You are bidding on a pair of very old Bell Telephone Systems very heavy cast iron pole or tree climbing spikes with leather straps and felt cushioning that I believe are circa 1930-1940's vintange. The spikes are marked Bell System I-47 Buckingham Mfg. 17 in. They also are marked WF20833. They have heavy leather pads with felt lining which rest against your leg and are complete with the leather straps to strap them to your leg. This is a great collectible for the telephone or utilities collector. I am not an expert in this so describe them as best I can. You are bidding on a very old Bell Telephone Systems pole or tree climbing safety harness leather belt& straps that I believe are circa 1930-1940's vintage. There is a brass tag on the belt that reads"Bell System 10.66 Size 24. B Belt 4" Mfg R.H. Buhrke" All of the metal rings and straps appear to be original. I did wipe them off but they have a slight musty odor. This is a great collectible for the telephone or utilities collector. I am not an expert in this area so I will describe the piece as best I can. Tree Climbing Cactus Cacti(Cereus Family) Cutting Succulent Plant. I do not know the exact name of this particular Cactus but it tends to climb trees and anything vertical around them. They climb by use of aerial roots and can reach a height 10 meters or more growing on rocks and trees. They are very variable and closely related to Selenicereus.
