Their body feathers due fade to even lighter as the summ er progresses making the purple plumage stand out even more. The hens are pied. HOVA BATOR 1602N Thermal Air Incubator-used-Poultry/Chicken/Duck/Goose/Turkey
I am listing several of my slightly used Poultry Incubators since I over did it and now have Chickens. Ducks and Geese literally everywhere-I really over did it, I got Hatch Happy-it was just too exciting. I bought 6 Incubators earlier this Spring and definitly do not need this many, I am only going to keep two, just in case I ever need them again but even that will be awhile. These will be slightly used, about 2 hatches each but they have been cleaned and thoroughly sanitized after each hatch. This is a Hova Bator# 1602N in the original box and instructions. The little tiny Thermometer that came with it I could not read so I bought a decent size thermometer/hygrometer[not included] at Wal-Mart in the Air Conditioning dept for about 2.99 which I just laid on the eggs and was able to see temp and humidity just by looking through the top. This ... morewas much easier than having to open it each time to see what that tiny one said and it didn't have the hygrometer on it anyway. I did not use any egg turners-I thought they were too costly and by turning all my eggs by hand several times every day was able to keep a closer eye on them and had great hatches. Be aware that all Incubators Thermostats do not behave exactly the same so always keep a very close eye on them-especially about half way through the hatch when the chicks start putting out heat on their own, you may have to adjust the temperature. I did not install a fan kit on this one, on some I did but I did not notice any difference in the hatches, they all came out about the same but I wanted to try it both ways. I was able to get about 56 Chicken Eggs in it at one time and 20+ Duck and Goose Egg combinations-just depends on how many of each you are putting in there since Goose Eggs are so big. Up for auction is a set of 2 poultry glass watering bases. They do not have the watering jars with them. These are in good condition with minor rough areas around the top edge. Both have places that look to be hard water stains in places. Since I don't want to try to remove them for fear of ruining the waterer. Up for bid is a lot of 3 vintage spice tins from the 1940s. These are quite old and in nice condition. There is one Durkee's Poultry Seasoning with a nice picture of a roasted bird on both sides. And a price of 19c. The other two are McCormick, one Rubbed Sage with"copyright 1942" on it, a price of 14c and rotating metal lid, and one Powdered Thyme with a sliding metal lid and 13c price. These are each about 1/4 to 1/2 full, but these are being sold as collectibles, and are NOT intended to be used! These would be great for displaying in a country kitchen or general store display. This original sign says Conkeys First Aid Products. Poultry Service Station, AND it is double sided with the same design on both sides! It is from around the 1930s or 1940s. Sturdy black painted or tole metal, about 20.5" tall, 14" wide and has a 1 1/2" flange edge to mount on the side. Sign is mainly yellow. Orange, red and black- the color seems pretty nice and it is overall in good condition, with a little rust and paint flaking around the edges, does have a few other minor marks on it.
