Here is a vintage or antique NOS? Blue Flame Oil Burning Brooder from Sears. Roebuck and Co. This may be missing parts other than the canopy. Please look at the photos and decide what is there for yourself. I dont know what it is supposedto look like when completed. Buy it as a parts unit or restore it. I do not see a date on this. This comes in its original box and with its original instructions. The box is just a plain cardboard box that has lots of wear. It is dirty, has rips tears and holes and is missing a flap. Someone wrote on the side of the box 1941 brooder. The instructions have some wear as well. They have yellowed or discolored. It is very dirty, especially the back page. There is edge and corner wear, some marks here and there and a rip near the top right corner. Looking at the instruction sheet I see a canopy. I do not have ... morethe canopy. I am not sure if this came with one(there really isn't any room in the box for it) or if you would have purchased it seperately. The pieces I do have look like they have not been used. They are a little dirty from years of storage in an open box. There is some minor wear for the same reason. The container that you would put the kerosene in is clear glass. It is in nice shape. The bowl that it sits in has some minor scratches or marks, probably from it being moved around with the bottle in it. There is some minor wear around the temperature control. The metal tubing on the underside looks like it is in great shape. There are a few scratches and some paint loss on the base. This is apx. 40 inches long. Included with this are a couple of booklets. You will get Illustrated Poultry Primer. The last reprint date on this is 1919. This comes to you in used condition with some wear. Thete is edge and corner wear. There are some rips and tears here and there as well as some light creases and bent corners. There is some writing on the cover. The pages have yellowed some. Rare Poultry Award Medal I have for sale a engraved award medal from the Pennsylvania State Poultry Society. Not sure the year but this medal is very old. THE Medalist was Rudolph Laubenheimer The medal is bronze. It is 1 3/4 inch in diameter and in nice circulated condition. The obverse reads PENNSYLVAINIA STATE POULTRY SOCIETY- INCORPORATED- 1870. In the center scene it shows a bird house. Assorted birds of all kinds at least 18 or so sunset with trees fence yard with bird house. This big can has great graphics. It has small dents. Scuffs, scratches and some rust near the bottom edge. There are three pin holes in the bottom. There are two holes for a bail handle at the top rim that are not original. The lid has been lost. I have been selling off a collection of coffee. Tea, syrup and lard tins that my great-grandmother saved. This is a nice old collection of poultry water. Feeder and nesting eggs. The large glass bottom waterer, is made to sit on the ground or floor of your coop, and you can use any gallon jar with it. You add water to the jar and set the bottom on it upside down and flip over, the gravity will do the rest. The same goes for the small glass waterer for chicks( you just use a smaller jar) and the round metal feeder is rare to find any more, you put the chick feed inside and the chicks can't walk on thier food, they have to eat around it. And the wood nesting eggs are for the hen that wants to set on eggs and you want to collect them.No chips or cracks in the glass items. Up for bid is a"Blue Band Sanitary Poultry Buttermilk Feeder Non-Corrosive" Antique Feeder/Waterer for all kinds of Poultry. Including your barnyard chickens. I bought it at an antique store in Western North Carolina for my Silky Chickens but unfortunately the chickens won't be able to move with us. Actually, I think most people would want this as a collectible as it is in Very Good Condition. The last pic shows a chip at one of the two openings. Other then that I don't see anything wrong with it. It is heavy as the base weighs about 5.5 lbs and the top weighs about 6.9 lbs. Without the saucer the top piece is 10.5" tall and I measured the width with a string around it and it came to 25" wide. The saucer is 12.5" wide x 1.5" tall. Thanks! This is a great and unique antique photograph. My wife's Grandfather was a chicken farmer and fancier. And won many awards for the birds that he raised and exhibited. This picture is of him and others chicken enthusiasts at a conference at the Biltmore Hotel, NYC, in 1914, concerning Model Poultry Farms, given by the Certified Farms Company. Each of the attending Chicken Enthusiasts is wearing a special coat and kerchief, identifying them as participants. In the open middle space of their large oval table are(you guessed it) live chickens and chicken farm equipment. I don't think was a fraternal organization, but it could have been, given the costumes worn. Aside from being very different from the norm, I love this photo based on the wide variety of participant faces and expressions(One guy looks like Teddy Roosevelt) Unfortunately, ... morethe photo does show some wear, and was torn at one time in the past(repaired with tape) The picture itself measures 11 X 17.5 inches; It measures 15 X 21 Inches including the cardboard frame.
