Here we have something that is sure DIFFERENT and that would be a p;air[1] of Kitchen or Poltry Shears that is combined with a large impressive looking Knife Blade. I guess the idea being to combine the poultry shear with a handy to use knife. Very unusual I think and I don't think that I have seen another. no markings but made extreamly well. Measures about 13 inch overall, has a thick Bowie knife type blade that is about 6 1/2 inch long. Is in EXCELLENT condition, some minor loss to the nickle finish but not that bad, shows signs of light sharpening with minor scratches. This is an all-original early-century"Jiffy Way" egg scale from Cyclone Manufacturing of Urbana. Indiana. I'm not sure of the year on this particular piece. The first patent in these were 1863 and Cyclone originally used the twin chicks logo. This one has the single chick logo as well as the colored scale reading, which I would guess to be at some point after the turn of the century, but I'm not an expert on these scales. It's in remarkably good condition compared to most I've seen. The right side company logo is about 60% gone. But all other logos and emblems are fairly well intact. As with all of our collectibles. Locking mechanism. Measures about 4 1/2" blade x 11" overall length(larger than often found) Not marked by maker… so a bit of a challenge… but almost certainly made in Germany or France… Other culinary items from the state included high quality Sabatier Hoffritz knives and similar. Condition In Very Good lightly used condition. Minimal wear to the blade.
