This is a very old original Red Wing stoneware poultry drinking fount and buttermilk feeder. It is 9 1/2 inches tall and 8 inches at the base. There is a small crack and chip on the bottom on the outside of the base. These flaws do not detract from the charm of this old buttermilk feeder.

These QUALITY bone crunchers work like a charm! I believe these were made for Poultry/Bone Cutting. But they would work beautifully on any like-size Bone or Tough Gristle/etc. They are used and could use a steel wool polishing. But they work perfectly as is! The handles look like horn of some type to me. But some people have called them bakelite, I'll let the buyer determine. There's a small chip out of the handle, but does not deflect usage or holding on to the handle. The blades are beautiful, sharp and havent been abused. They are Marked: H. Blue Ribbon Brand Stoneware Poultry Fount by Buckeye Pottery of Macomb Illinois
For your consideration is a stoneware part of a poultry fount. This poultry fount is of the Blue Ribbon Brand line that was made by Buckeye Pottery Co. of Macomb. Illinois. This company existed from 1882 to 1941. The logo on this fount leads me to believe it was manufactured after 1920. This fount originally had a wire device attached to it; a regular glass jar fit into the wire device; the jar held whatever the poultry was drinking. The last picture is of a like fount with the wire device, so prospective customer can see what is missing. The poultry then consumed the liquid out of the stoneware part. On this poultry fount, the top has an outside diameter of almost 5 3/8" and is slightly more than 1 1/8" tall. The logo and the writing are distinct. On the outside edge are several chips.
