13 Antique Vintage HONEY BEE HIVE Foundation Frames Shallow & Deep Super -Apiary
These are 13 antique/ vintage wooden frames found in a farmer's barn. Foundation frames are typically wired and covered with a thin sheet of beeswax that honey bees use as a foundation to start making honeycombs that they fill with honey. Six of these are about 17 3/4 inches wide and 5 1/2 inches tall and would fit in a shallow super. Seven of these are about 17 3/4 inches wide and 9 1/4 inches tall and would fit in a deep super. One of these deep frames came apart when I was cleaning it so is currently disassembled. These old frames are not in bad condition. Most could use some extra glue and nails and sanitization if you plan on using them for bees. There are still traces of honeycomb on these and they aren't completely clean and solid. I rinsed the dust off and gave them a once over with soapy water but that's all I did to ... moreclean them. They are still wet in these photos so that's why they're a little shiny. I fixed up 10 of these old frames and put them in my hive and they are holding up pretty well but are not the strongest frames in the world. I am using them for brood- I don't think these would hold up during the rigors of extraction. It looks like all of the slats and piece are here- I didn't notice any missing pieces. There are still some nails and wires sticking out on some. So please be careful when you open the package. The wood has a nice patina from age and beeswax and I also think that these would be fun to use for crafts. Maybe picture frames as a gift for your favorite beekeeper? Thanks for looking!

Our honey is raw or natural. It contains no preservatives it is not blended or imported honey. Because it is natural. It will crystallize after a period of time. Crystallized honey can be returned to a liquid form by heating it in hot water. Each variety of our pure honey has characteristics that make that each one unique. Some of the main characteristics of pure honey are the color. Crystallization, moisture content, fructose sugar and glucose sugar levels. Honey color is always graded with a number. A low number indicates a light color and the higher the number the darker the honey. Granulation is also given a number value to rate at which point the honey tends to crystallize or granulate. Sucrose, dextrose and moisture content are based on a percentage. Each honey has its own flavor depending on where the nectar is collected. Clover honey ... moreis collected in clover fields. Buckwheat honey in buckwheat fields, and so on. Honey can be used in place of jams, jellies, sugars, and syrups on toast, muffins, pancakes, waffles, and over fruits.
