Here is some information on this great breed: This breed originated in Australia developed from Black Orpingtons imported from England; and the emphasis of the breeding program was on egg production without sacrificing too much in size and meat quality. They have become useful and popular and are certainly one of the best layers of light brown eggs of all the heavy breeds. A flock of Black Australorps with their glossy black plumage which has a greenish-purple sheen and their larger than average bright red combs make an unusually handsome sight. They are big birds. Over the past couple of years I have shown my birds at numerous open poultry shows(with good competition) and my birds have received Best of Variety and/or Reserve of Variety at every show. At the 2013 ABA National in Stockton. CA. I had Best of Variety on the Bantam Blue Laced Red Wyandotte and also received Best Any Other Variety. I hatch out 100+ chicks each year and only keep the very best birds for breeding. I am currently using 2 blue laced roosters and one splash laced rooster. Most of the pullets/hens are blue laced. There are also 2 black laced and 2 splash laced hens/pullets. You may hatch blue laced. Black laced or splash laced birds from these eggs. I will carefully package your eggs to give them the best chance possible during shipping. That being said I have no control over what happens to the eggs once they leave my hands. Shipping can be very damaging to the eggs and shipped eggs normally do not hatch as well as eggs that were not shipped. Poor handling and your individual incubator settings can all affect how well the eggs hatch. With that in mind you should leave feedback when you receive your eggs not after the hatch.
