Ginger alone in the phoenix breed is something only 2-3 peopel in the USA have. It is an extremely rare gene which makes pretty much an all white male bird with a black tail. The hens look similare to a silver duckwing hen just with a white breast. Now add in the blue gene which turns all the black feathers blue and you do have a truely beatiful and rare color in the phoenix not just in the USA but anywhere. The blue gene is very rare in all long tailed fowl so do miss you chance if you have been looking to add it into your breeding program. These lines both have some of the extremely rare German Ismer line's phoenix blood in them as well, which gives them a stance and type seen in no US stock lines! Here is a vintage Woodpecker Woodware 2-tier wall shelf/spice rack that I've had on my kitchen wall for several years. It's hand painted and was made in Japan in the 50s or 60s. It's marked on the underside. I have several pieces of this wood ware and have to make more room in the kitchen. So I'm parting with the larger items. I bought it about 20 years ago and it looks the same as when I got it. It's in very good used condition. Please see all photos for details. There is some slight paint fade and paint missing on the black dots and lines. There's some usage wear. The corners are pulling apart just a bit on the bottom front corners. Description: Up for auction this week is this Lot of 6. Vintage 1950s Easter Chicks& Chickens. The smallest chicks are made from small pompoms& feathers with plastic feet, cardboard beaks and black seed bead eyes. The medium size chickens are made from chenille pipe cleaners and feathers with plastic feet, cardboard features and black seed bead eyes. The large chicks are made from pompoms and spun cotton(or felt, not sure I know the difference) with with paper eyes, flower scarf bow& beaks. There hats, wings& feet are from spun cotton. The boy chick is carrying a pipe cleaner cane and the girl has lace trim on brim of her bonnet. There are no manufacture marks on the small& medium chicks, but they were probably made in Japan. The larger chicks are on a cardboard base that has"Made in Taiwan" on the bottom. These ... moredarling Easter chicks would make a great addition to your vintage 50s Easter collection or a great Easter present. Very cute brood of baby chicks. Hand painted, could be Japan but not sure as there is not a sticker or stamp on the bottom of any of them. They were a box lot find. They look to be older, there is a lot of crazing on them, noticeable close up. They measure 1 7/8" x 1 7/8" There is a small paint chip on the end of one of the beaks, but no other chipping or cracking on them. Great for Easter or just as a collectible. So cute!
