Judge Leiper originated this line of birds. The story of the Judge's breeding that led to the origin of this fine family of fowl that makes the most sense to me is that they are a cross between Kearney Brownred and Kearney whitehackles. According to Ty Kennedy, there is also Black Jap blood which would explain the black influence that you see in these fowl. I just recently learned from Ty Kennedy who was reading back though his grandfather(Jimmy East Sr.s) breeding records that his Leipers originally came from Harold Brown. Sometimes I find a Cloth that I already own or that does not fit my Table. But I still can't pass it by. I picked this one up a few weeks ago and thought you might want to add it to your Collection. Why not take a look at this. T h e Tablecloth is Cotton and I am unable to identify who made it and actually don't even have a guess- do you? I can tell you that I have never seen this Pattern before.and I thought I'd seen them all! This Cloth measures 46" x 48" and has 2 Selvage and 2 non-selvage Sides. It is in Excellent Condition and there are no rips. Holes or tears and no storage issues. I do see a few light ... morestains that look like water stains that I think would soak out. I have not tried because to be honest they are hardly noticeable. As with most items I sell. This is a vintage item and is being sold"as found. I try to describe any flaws I see, but sometimes something can be overlooked but never intentionally. The Tablecloth is White with a thin Brown Border Stripe outside of a Yellow and White Polka Dot Stripe. It is in very good condition. There appears to be a small chip on the tip of one of the wings, and a possible small chip to the back of one cockscomb. Both are hard to detect. This is SO unusual. It would be darling on your Easter breakfast or luncheon table with some daffodils in it.but not too man y because you wouldn't want them to"steal the thunder" from the vase. We found this vase at an auction at the estate of the gentleman who owned over 40 Kentucky Fr ied Chicke n restaurants throughout the state of W est Virginia. Now. I'm not saying this has anything at all to do with KFC, I don't believe it relates a t all. That's just where we got it. Easy enough to understand why he owned it. The vase is highly molded in relief. The handles are chickens. Beneath the rim. There are eggs molded in relief all the way around the vase, and around the bottom of the vase, in the blue area, there are chicks molded in relief. There is a large floral transfer on the front, and a small one on the back. ... moreThe background colors are cream. Tan and blues that fade into each other. The highlight outlines on the chickens and eggs a re brown. We don't usually do this. But since we can't determ ine the age o f this vase. We took a photo of the inside before we cleaned it. Dirt takes a long time to accumulate like this was! And if you look closely at the clean vase. You can see my fingers through the porcelain. It's not cheap junk. They are identical, except for their coloring. They are made from"composite" a combination of glue, sawdust, plaster, and whatever else was handy. They have cast lead legs/feet. The gray one is marked"Germany" and the brown one has a"15" on the bottom for his original cost, which was 15 cents(probably for the pair) They are in excellent vintage condition, with no breaks or damage. Their paint is clean and bright, and they stand well on their little lead feet. They are miniatures, measuring 1 1/4" tall and 1" long.
