Vintage 2-Piece Galvanized Metal Farm Chicken/Small Animal Feeder; No Holes
I have One Vintage 2-Piece Galvanized Metal Farm Animal Feeder. This Farm Fresh Feeder has a 1" red band around the top below the dome. I could not find any other markings. It measures about 12" across the bottom. And stands about 17" tall. There are a few normal dents and dings, but this was being used as a chicken feeder on a family farm. The handles on both pieces look good and are sturdy. The only hole is the one at the bottom that lets the food out, and it still has the flap intact. This is a great old farm feeder, ready to use or display. I believe it is an older one than a lot you see, given the dome design, but I do not know the age. This is not a shiny, new Feeder. This feeder crock is a rare item and doesn't come up for auction very often! It is very well decorated and reads: The UCO FEEDER For Water. Milk, Mash and Dry Feeds m'f'd. by UHL Pottery Co. Huntingburg. Indiana This piece does have hairlines&or fractures in the stoneware. 3-4 visible, fine lines. Multiple pictures to show. There is a chip missing on the bottom edge only slightly visible unless you turn the piece over, it doesn't seem too significant. This pottery feeder is still solid, but is being sold as not functional for liquid anymore even though it doesn't look like it would leak since the fractures are not down at the base.
