It is sold in as is used condition showing normal wear from use and storage. There are no cracks or chips on it. All items are sold as found. We just wipe them off to make sure there is no damage. This is a nice old collection of poultry water. Feeder and nesting eggs. The large glass bottom waterer, is made to sit on the ground or floor of your coop, and you can use any gallon jar with it. You add water to the jar and set the bottom on it upside down and flip over, the gravity will do the rest. The same goes for the small glass waterer for chicks( you just use a smaller jar) and the round metal feeder is rare to find any more, you put the chick feed inside and the chicks can't walk on thier food, they have to eat around it. And the wood nesting eggs are for the hen that wants to set on eggs and you want to collect them.No chips or cracks in the glass items. It is 9-1/4" tall 7-1/4" across the bottom and has a 4" outside diameter across the top. It has 1 tiny chip on the bottom. No cracks or hairlines, and very little light crazing beginning if looked closely in a bright light. A very nice stoneware example. Vintage Galvanized Chicken Feeder - 1940's - Spinner Top
This chicken feeder was used in the 1950's for smaller birds as they were growing. This doesn't have a manufacturer or date on it. Has a spinner bar over the feeder to prevent chickens from sitting in feeder. There is some bending on this piece. Spinner and one edge need to be reshaped. Measures 18" long. 4" wide, and is 2 1/2" tall from spinner to bottom. Does have some rusting on the bottom and the starting of discoloration spots on the feeder. This is still in very good condition for the age of the piece. Could be used as decoration, or still good to feed chickens. Shipping and handling is USPS Parcel Select. I am offering a Vintage Chicken Waterer or Feeder. The 96 oz. glass jar Greek Key pattern with a screw top lid. So it can be used as a jar also. The base of the jar says Oakes Mfg. Co. Tipton Ind USA Pat No.70. The removable base feels like a hard plastic. And is light weight. It has a groove on the inner raised circle so the water or food will pour into the base. The jar slides on the base. It doesn't screw onto the base. It is a great piece of vintage farm supplies that are still usable today. It would have been purchased in an old hardware or feed store. The jar holds 3/4 of a gallon or 96 ounces. The base is 9" x 2" The storage at the bottom is 1" deep. With the jar it is 9 1/2" tall. There are no chips or cracks. H ere’s something you don’t see very often. This old redware feeder is 9 1/2 inches tall. Base is 5 3/4 wide and about 7 inches deep. It weighs 4 1/2 pounds. The seed outlet is glazed; the rest is unglazed. CONDITION: There’s quite a bit of chipping around the seed outlet. Thanks to lots of pecking from hungry chickens. Redware probably wasn’t the best choice for a chicken feeder. In addition, there is some minor chipping from the top down to just below the second incised line(this can be seen in Photos 2 and 7) and there is a chip at the base(lower left in Photo 8) These can all be seen in the photos, which are a vital part of the description. Antique W.R. Co. stoneware bird/chicken feeder. The piece is made of stoneware and has brown glazed finish. There are no cracks but there is a couple chips as you can see in the images. These make GREAT Flower Boxes or Candle Holders for Home and Garden! Having a"Big Top" Country Wedding with Artsy/ Pinterest flair? My wife did one last October and it was gorgeous. From the lounge area made of hay bales covered with quilts to the free standing"door to the future" to the bridesmaids in cowboy boots and so on. On each table was one of these chicken feeders filled with the most beautiful table arrangements. Flowers. Candles and Place Cards. We also used them with floating candles to light some areas. This is a real vintage used BUCKEYE chicken feeder from the 1950's, a time when local poultry farms were all over the USA. They were actually used for about 20 years from 1956-1976 and show the kind of wear and patina that you just can't replicate. This auction is for a"barn fresh" galvanized ... moretin chicken feeder that is 57 1/4" L x 7 1/4" W x 7" H The depth of the trough is 3 1/2" Each has metal wire fold up legs on each end that allow for easy stacking.
