It is very large with over all height being 13 1/2" from ceiling to bottom of light, and the bottom of the glass part being about 12" across. It has the ceiling mount(which was painted a gold color and might want to strip or repaint) short chain then the large beehive style white milk glass globe and then the chrome/ aluminum ring that slips down over the globe. This can be used with the ring or without. This print is from a rare British children's book. Probably from the 1930s. It shows a longhair tabby cat watching the comings and goings of the bees at the beehive. There is a caption beneath the illustration that reads: Tibbles waits patiently beside the beehives. It is by the very famous British artist A. E. Kennedy. Forgive the poor quality of the scan. The original has bright. Rich colors. The page has text on the back, but it is not visible through paper. The page measures approx. 7.75x10.75 inches. And the actual image area is about 6.5x8 inches. WATERBURY ANTIQUE MANTLE ROUND GOTHIC BEEHIVE 8 DAY PARLOR CLOCK - RUNS GREAT
This is a GREAT example of a Waterbury Mantle Round Gothic(sometimes called a Beehive) Clock. It was made circa 1860s or the early 1870s. It has an 8-day time and strike movement which counts the hours on the hour on a gong. With a distinctive sound. The case is beautiful with a great beautiful finish. The movement and Dial have been replaced. I believe it had when it was made it had a Waterbury 30 hour movement. Needed to be wound once a day, but someone upgraded the clock to an 8 day time and strike movement! Collectors have varying degrees of concern over this type of change, as it makes no difference in the operation of the clock itself, and in this case the clock now runs an entire 8 days on one winding. It has an adjustment for fast and slow on the pendulum, which can be turned by the nut at the bottom of the pendulum. The clock comes ... morewith a key. The movement runs very well and keeps good time. The movement was just cleaned. Oiled, pivots polished and bushings added where needed. This clock will not need servicing for many years to come. And is ready for the next 100 years! This is a labor intensive service, with many clockmakers charging 250.00 and up. We recommend having it oiled every 2 to 3 years to keep it in tip-top shape! With the purchase of this clock for an additional $ 2.25 we will include an oiler kit with a professional oiler loaded with enough oil to oil approximately 50 clocks with easy instructions so you could even do it yourself! Runs great with a really wide pendulum swing and a happy ticking sound. This clock has its original gong and its original wavy glass. The clock measures 18 ¾ inches high. 4 ½ inches deep, and 10 ¾ inches wide. This is one of those super oldies in great condition. There are a few places where the veneer has been repaired, looks good. These antique clocks amaze me- could you imagine any other consumer product still working after over 120 years! Need to find a new home for this nice old mixing bowl. Dark blue beehive that measures about 6-3/8" in diameter and 3-1/4" tall. Inside nice and clean- no utensil marks. Bottom is marked GERMAN(first letter hard to make out. But pretty sure it is a G) No cracks but one little chip to blue finish on lower side of the wide rim band. This ceramic toothpick holder of a rust colored baby bear sitting next to a beehive. The bear is about 3 ½” tall and 2 1/4” wide. The beehive is 1 ¼” tall and about ¾” in diameter. The bear is painted with red around his eyes and is stamped Japan on the bottom of the beehive(faint) Also included are the plastic toothpicks in a plastic wrap. No chips. Antique Seth Thomas Beehive Mantel Clock Nice Case Silver Colored Face Not Running Note: All items in our store include NO sales tax to our US customers! Here is a nice Seth Thomas Beehive clock from the early 1900s for your buying consideration. Recently acquired it at an estate sale. Would make a great gift or keep it for yourself. The clock was provided as an anniversary present to an 30 year employee of the NY Telephone company. The plaque is still with the clock. I have just oiled the bushings and pinions and the clock is running. And striking inconsistently. The movement only keeps its' beat for a few minutes and then stops. So. The clock is being sold in not running condition. Probably just needs a good cleaning or a bushing or two. The movement of the clock has"80" noted on it on the left back foot. The movement has ... morethe Seth Thomas trademark on it in the the left top corner. The springs feel sound when keyed. Nice deep sound to the strike gong. The gong strikes on the half hour and strikes the hours on the hour. The movement does look pretty clean. The pendulum also looks appropriate to the clock. The wood case is fairly good shape. No cracks or splits in the wood. Very minor crazing of the finish. Some minor personality marks and loss of finish over its' years of use. Nice bezel and intact convex glass over the clock face. No cracking or blistering to the glass. The silver colored metal clock face shows some loss of the numbers most likely from polishing or sun exposure over the years. The clock will come with a winding key. Front and rear doors are both there and latch into place. The clock hands match and look appropriate to the clock. The clock stands 10.75" tall. SETH THOMAS BEEHIVE MANTEL CLOCK-89 AL MOVEMENT with KEY
This is a terrific antique Seth Thomas. Beehive style mantle clock with an 89AL movement and key. The right side seems to be overwound, but the clock also seems to be running. There is a chime on the half hour and it is a 30 day clock. It is a rich deep sound. The inner workings also read Made in the USA ST and it measures 10.75" x 8.25" x 5.5" and it is in excellent condition EXCEPT the glass face is not there at all. Again, it appears to be working. 1830's Aqua Open Pontil Swirled Ribbed Ohio Club Beehive Flask Bottle Calabash
Up for auction is an antique whiskey flask. Aqua bottle stands about 8.5" tall and measures 4" across the base. Has an open pontil on base and a blob lip. Ribbed flask is swirled to the left. Lots of bubbles and stretch marks. Flask is in great condition. Clean with no cracks. There is a shallow 3/8" flake on neck right under lip. Beautiful Early Antique Beehive Seth Thomas Mantel Clock Up for auction is an antique mahogany wood Seth Thomas mantel clock with banded inlay. A porcelain dial with Arabic numerals. Brass pendulum, convex glass and brass bezel. Brass feet and a coiled gong chime. The clock is from early 1900 and was made in the USA in Thomaston. Connecticut. Movement marked with the ST logo with the number"Made in US America 48J" It runs and seems to be in good shape for its age. The circle around the hole near the 5 is missing and some of the face is chipped near there. The brass bezel has taken on a very dark natural patina; it can be cleaned with brass polish or just left as is. There are no chips or cracks to the glass face. The gong to chimes. Please look at all the pictures. This is a modern. Made to look retro/vintage, beehive type style, table-top radio. It is battery operated. The batteries that are in it are still working but I do not know how much battery life is left. It does work and is a nice decor piece. It is made of a ceramic material. Some of the pictures showed up places that are not there. from the lighting and reflection of the camera flash. It looks to be in good displayable condition. It measures approximately 8 1/2 inches tallest part, widest part, side to side approximately 6 1/2 inches, and this is measuring the bottom. Front to back, approximately 3 1/4 inches. This candlestick is in the classic beehive pattern and measures 7” tall on a 2½” base; the candle cup is 5/8" diameter. The bottom has the name“Harvin” and the number 3010 marked in raised letters. It is used but in excellent condition. Bright shiny brass, some very minor wear and surface coating pitting causing some light tarnish. This should easily polish away. The Stained Wooden Cabinet has an Inlaid Wood Design at the bottom and Grooves on the front cabinet. It measures 10 ¾ x 9 x 4 ½” There is a small gouge mark on the back…the front of the cabinet looks good. The silver ring and dial face of the clock shows considerable wear with scratches and the face is darkened. On the dial it reads. Ingraham Eight Day. Made by the E. Ingraham Co. Bristol. Conn USA. The Brass Ring needs cleaning& polishing. There is a simple pendulum that looks old and worn. There is a 2 sides key#54381 West Germany There is a label in the back door that reads“Dover” 7 Inch with the directions for unpacking& setting up the clock…The E. Ingraham Co. Mechanics: We could ... morenot get this clock to run. Nor do we know how to oil the clock. The clock does tick when the pendulum is swung. However, it will stop after 30 seconds or so.
