This is a very nice ORIGINAL sales catalog for Gilson hit and miss gas engines. It is catalog G-7 and measures about 6 1/8 x 9 1/4 inches with 32 pages. It shows all of the features and variations of the Gilson engines that were available back in the day. It is in good condition with only minor wear and soiling. It has a slight water stain along the top edge but this in no way affects the information it contains. These original catalogs are extremely tough to find in the wild and they really make a display more complete when they accomodate an engine at the shows. The pictures tell the story on this piece. It advertises the Church engine which is a Hamilton sideshaft, feed and ensilage cutters, silos, `76 plows, wood saws, grinding mills, pumps, tanks, and hay tools. It measures 13" X 10 1/4" when unfolded, and is a great little piece of advertising. Use the photos to judge the condition, it does have a small hole where the corner is when it`s folded up.

This is a very valuable resource for those working with engines made prior to and just after the turn of the century(1900) The book is in very good condition as I am the original purchaser. There is no writing nor torn pages. The only issue that precludes this from being equivalent to new is the front and back cover corners are lightly bruised. Joining his brother John in the operation of a foundry in La Porte, Indiana. This basic operation gradually expanded by 1859 into the production of corn shellers and complete threshing machines powered by horses. Following success in this new field, Meinrad then bought out his brother's portion of the business and incorporated it as the M. Rumely Company by 1887. Starting in 1895, the line expanded to include steam-powered traction engines. Interior of the gauge is clean and functional as shown in the photos. The case shows light surface rust. The face is in good + condition. Overall very nice and would benefit from a good cleaning. The gauge works, and seems to respond accurately but due to the old, rusted union at the bottom of the syphon I am not able to get a clean connection and cannot verify the accuracy. but I suspect it is just fine. It will not be difficult to remove the union but I will leave that for the new owner. The brass right angle or side mount syphon is a rarely seen accessory. Winner adds $15 for careful packing.
