Vintage 1930's ASSOCIATED TEACHERS acoustic guitar, very nice
This is a great old acoustic guitar from the 1930's. It has a square neck and is numbered along the fretboard. Which combined with the name brand(Associated Teachers) leads me to believe it was either a teacher's model or a student's model. Can't find anything on this brand but it's a solid, well-made guitar with a great tone. Has a nice bluesy sound, although it was probably used as a lap guitar with slide to play Hawaiian music when it was new! 38 inches total length, the body itself is 18 1/4 inches long and 13 inches wide. The body has an impressive hand applied, painted pattern which is light greenish gray with a hint of yellow-it looks fantastic! Nice straight neck. I put a new set of light gauge Martin strings on her. Would make an exceptional acoustic or electric slide guitar with some modifications.
