This is considered the book that all other gasoline engine books are gauged by. It is commonly called the BYB an is"American Gasoline Engines Since 1872" by Charles Wendel. It was published in 1983 and this is a first printing. It is probably the most complete and comprehensive book of manufacturers of engines. It is very detailed and has information about hundreds of companies that built engines. It is heavily illustrated and is definitely a must have for any early engine collector or enthusiast! It measures about 9 x 11 1/4 and has 586 pages. It is in good used condition with minor soiling and some slight damage to the bottom of the spine. Here is an original 1926 Joseph Reid Gas Engines Gompany list of parts book. This is a good sized book with 96 numbered pages with illustrations. It is complete and in good condition inside. The front cover has a water stain on left bottom corner that goes into the first 25 pages or so but gets faint and really is not bothersome at all. Otherwise the covers show modest small stains and wear but are essentially in very nice shape. The forward reads. In this book will be found a complete list of parts of Reid two cycle gas engines and Reid Pumping Powers. Witte Model B oil well engine not hit miss
For sale is a Witte model B 10 HP oil field pump jack engine. It is set up to run on well head gas. Easy conversion to propane. Clutch works as it should. There are no breaks or welds on this engine. It has been kept inside since removed from the well. All I did was clean the points, prime it with gasoline and it started on the first turn after sitting 10 years. It carries great oil pressure, no knocks or smoke and is very smooth running, sits still on the skids at all RPMs. I have not tried to run it on natural gas or propane but see no reason why it would not work as it should. I do not have a starting crank handle. I will not ship this item. We can load it with a forklift. Please read the terms carefully. They are not complicated. This item must be picked up. I will not ship it. It also must be paid for at time of pick up and within 7 ... moredays of end of auction unless you have made other arrangements prior to bidding. Original Alma McVicker Hit Miss Gas Engine Catalog Steam Tractor Magneto Oiler
This is a very nice ORIGINAL sales catalog for McVicker hit and miss gas engines made by the Alma Manufacturing Company in Alma. Michigan. It came from the estate of a very early engine collector and measures about 6 x 9 inches with 28 pages. It shows all of the features and variations of the Gilson engines that were available back in the day. It is in good condition with some wear and soiling. There is a 2 1/2 inch tear in the edge of the cover and the center pages have come loose from the staples. All of the pages are present and in good condition. These original catalogs are extremely tough to find in the wild and they really make a display more complete when they accomodate an engine at the shows. The pictures tell the story on this piece. For sale is a Stover Engine co. sales brochure. From the Stover MFG. Engine co. Freeport, ILL, USA. It covers sales information, engine specifications& features of Stover hit and miss stationary engines. This brochure wad printed in 1926 and has 8 pages. The condition of this brochure is fair, it has yellowing paper pages that are stapled. Some of the pages have pulled through the staples and some have torn away from the opposite pages. There is a crease where the booklet wad folded at some point, but the book appears that it was designed to be folded. There is minor dirt and finger prints on all pages, but for the age it's not bad.
