Kwik-Print 2x9 Type Holder & Heater for Model 55/64/86 Hot Foil Stamper Embosser
This is a Kwik Print 2"x9" Type Holder that can be used on the Model 55/64/86 Hot Foil Stamping presses. It was removed from a unit that was damaged in shipping. The type holder is in good condition and comes with a heating element attached along with a heat control unit. All movements on the type holder are super smooth. I cleaned it thoroughly and made sure it's in great operating condition. The yoke on the type holder(the silver piece that attaches to the press) is in fair shape- there's some wear on the pin where the screw holds it in place and from what I remember, it may need to be re-tapped as the threads where the foil-feed attach were tight. A new type-holder from Kwik-Print will cost upwards of $600 without a heater! The heating element and controller are working. When plugged in the temperature rose to 200 degrees ... moreand was very hot to the touch. No warranties given on the heating element or controller. They are used and included mainly as a freebie. Great opportunity to have a spare type-holder if you constantly change your dies around! I also have some other spare parts from a Model 86 machine including the upper arm. Lower arm& platform. These parts are specific to the"earlier" design Model 86's that have the older threading and build. The newer machines have a different threading on the raise/lower screw. This came from a November 1981 manufactured machine. Then you must fill the empty spaces of the chase with a metal fillers, usually lead, copper, steel, aluminum, etc. A chase for a hot stamp machine is great to have. The table. Frame, and ram are very well designed for durability for repetitive stamping. There is no foil advancing with a gold magic machine. It is performed by pulling the foil from the spool over your work manually. Also there is no spring return when you pull down the handle, you must manually return the handle back up. Though I think this is not a problem, because even with a spring you would have to hold it anyhow, as not to let the handle snap back. The table has 2 tapped screw holes for Thumb Screws in the back that you can attach accessories to so you can line up your work. This is a nice hot press I did plug it in to let it heat up for the pictures. I have actually never used it. I purchased this for some leather gold stamping but it got sidetracked by a death in my family. I purchased this Custom Card Systems CCS 200 as part of a government surplus lot. I was able to purchase all the necessary parts to get it back to 100% functionality. I have 9 blank cards that will go with the unit. I have 1 card blank that I tested the functionality with as you can see in the photos. The machine itself is used. It had another item loosely packaged on top of it which marred up the paint on the case as you can see in the photos. This can easily be sanded and spray painted if you feel the need to clean up the outside further. The only issue this unit has is a missing rubber foot that goes on the bottom of it. These are just rubber feet that get pushed into the bottom of the unit and could honestly be replaced with 4 stick on ones. Kingsley Machine or Letterpress die - Poodle
This die would be used with an open chase holder. I put it rotated in a 36-point holder to save time in testing.
