A chase is ... morea opening that is then filled with type. Dies, emblems. Then you must fill the empty spaces of the chase with a metal fillers, usually lead, copper, steel, aluminum, etc. A chase for a hot stamp machine is great to have. The table. Frame, and ram are very well designed for durability for repetitive stamping. There is no foil advancing with a gold magic machine. It is performed by pulling the foil from the spool over your work manually. Also there is no spring return when you pull down the handle, you must manually return the handle back up. Though I think this is not a problem, because even with a spring you would have to hold it anyhow, as not to let the handle snap back. The table has 2 tapped screw holes for Thumb Screws in the back that you can attach accessories to so you can line up your work. This is a nice hot press I did plug it in to let it heat up for the pictures. I have actually never used it. I purchased this for some leather gold stamping but it got sidetracked by a death in my family. Vintage 1940s Kingsley Gold Stamping Machine, 8 fonts type and 5 boxes of foil
Vintage 1940s? Kingsley hot foil gold stamping machine. Serial no. 15512. Very early model without a model number, we think this is the first model they ever made. The power cord is indicative of 1940s appliances. It works perfectly and is amazingly complete. There are 5 boxes of foil, mostly unused, dated Nov. 1949. The pressed tin end of the cannisters says pat pend, there are 62 rolls of foil, mostly still sealed. The fonts are amazing and varied, there are 8 wooden boxes of them, styles are as follows: P.T. BARNUM lower case; P.T.BARNUM caps; 18 point NEWS GOTHIC CAPS; 6 on 12 point NEWS GOTHIC CAPS and Figures(numbers) 8 point NEWS GOTHIC CAPS and figures; 24 point GOTHIC CAPS; NEWPORT MONOGRAMS; 18th Century initials. Two Kingsley Gold Stamping Machines These belonged to my husband who passed away recently. He had a collection of Letterpress type and presses. These two Kingsley’s were in his print shop. Neither one is in working condition. As evident by the frayed/damaged electric cord on one of them. The other model is missing its electric cord and some parts. In looking at photos online, the rollers seem to be missing on both of them. There may be other parts missing too. I don’t know. Pretty much what you see is what you get. This auction includes the two machines shown in the photos. One is mounted to a nice little finished wooden base. The other is still attached to what appears to be a chunk of a work bench. I am leaving it attached to that chunk of wood because the metal plate with the instructions are also attached to that piece of wood. They look ... morelike the same model but I am not sure. This is an excellent unit that works just great. You can see that we printed the name JW Horn on a piece of paper as pictured. This comes with everything pictured including all of the gold for oil on the machine. The two rolls of foil that are unopened, the typesetting block, the tweezers, and a set of eighteen point font Park Avenue metal stamps. I bought this at auction, so I have no idea whether the entire alphabet is present and it is difficult to tell because it is in cursive. I also don't know what the gold Voyles are made of. Let's pretend it's made of solid gold. I, of course, cannot actually guarantee that because I have no idea.

Kingsley Machine M-60 Hot Foil Stamping Machine with Accessories and Gold Foil
You are bidding on a very nice Kingsley Hot stamp machine. This was part of an estate. And I am selling this for the family. The machine is marked an M-60. The condition looks very good overall. The handle is missing. I will try to check this week in case it can be located at the house, but my guess is it's gone now. It comes with 2 cases, one with the letter/number stamps. It has all the letters, but no numbers. Apostrophe and quotation marks appear to be good. There are some"shims" type items of a number of sizes in the case as well. The second case has some accessories, a napkin holder and roller, along with some tools and pads. There are also 3 rolls of foil, 2 gold and one silver. There were hand written notes in the case showing"23K gold" but I don't know how to confirm that. The note was on the case, not ... moreon the foil roll. The small Kingsley package shows 23K, but most of those have been used in all or part. I plugged it in and set it on medium high, temp went up to 225 before I shut it back off.
