Nice Old Antique Very Large Cobalt Blue Wide Mouth Bottle, Not Embossed, Unknown
Here's another interesting old or antique bottle from the collection we've been listing from for the past couple weeks. This one is somewhat of a mystery bottle. It is a relatively large cobalt bottle. We thought at first it might be a bromo seltzer bottle but there is no embossing of that type on the body. On the underside the embossing we find are two numbers"32" and"4" if that is helpful in identifying it. It has a wide mouth and may have been used in at a druggist's or apothecary establishment containing a large amount of product to be sold to customers in smaller quanities. The bottle is in nice shape with no damage noted and we're guessing it is in the 1900 to 1920's era. Of the bottles in this collection we haven't seen anything to date later than about 1930. This bottle has been cleaned ... morein the past but some bottle enthusiasts will elect for a little more light cleaning of the interior. This bottle stands about 8 inches tall. Is about 3.75 inches in diameter and the mouth is about 2.125 inches in outside diameter. Hopefully those who collect old and antique bottles will be able to identify it. Very nice large old cobalt bottle. That's about it. The pictures should be helpful to those having interest. We'll start this bottle low so enjoy the auction. We'll pack this carefully. This belt is made of 7/8 oz. black leather with our solid brass British buckle. That is a mid 18th century reproduction buckle. The belt is 2 1/8" wide and will vary in lenght, but will be at least 48" long or longer. This listing is for an authentic vintage antique collector's sample of barbed wire fencing. This wire features a John W. Govier patent. Dated May 23, 1893. This wire is called"Govier's Wide Square Clinch Plate and Pin Barb by collectors. ref. Hagemeier 419-B) This wire features two twisted together line wires. Barbs are two pointed, made from a staple shaped barbing wire, and a steel plate. Plate has an oblong hole cut in center. Staple is placed straddling one of the line wires, plate is placed over the two legs of the staple, with staple holes inside the opening. Staple legs are then bent outwards, to lock barb to line wire. Second line wire is then wrapped with first, and wrapped so it lies over the plate, and between the two bent legs of the staple barb. Plate is 1/2" wide. Wire sample is 19-3/4" in length. It shows ... moreage and use wear, with light to moderate pitting. There are four barbs, fairly well spaced, and cut is well centered. There are no broken or missing points. Wire is in good used condition. Photos show this wire compared to the easier to find Govier Narrow Clinch Plate. This is a peace of very long and wide trim lace. It appears to be a ruffle of some old dress or peace that belongs to antique dress. Very delicate and thin lace. When I found this it looks like one soft black smashed yarn and was fool of dust. Dirty. I washed this lace gently and ironed, so it transformed in a beautiful lace. It is sewn on one and. One part of lace is much wider because trim was aded- see picture. I am not lace expert but by my opinion it is old hand made lace. I am not sure what kind of lace it is, very very delicate and lite looks like someone printed flowers on the net. Excellent condition, I found just three little wholes on it. 7 7/8" tall x 7 1/2" wide x 3 3/4" deep. Pretty cranberry deco styled vase with gold around the rim. Painted with white rose. Other flowers and leaves, and cute butterfly on bottom. Small area of missing cranberry by rim(pic. 5) and there are some spots of missing cranberry, though hard to notice unless you are looking for them(see pic.6-8) Check out where the ribbed sides meet the two main middle pieces. Some of the cranberry isn't there, not from defect, from manufacturing. Very nice piece and I didn't see anything listed like it(shape wise) Some of the vases listed on Ebay were painted, but this has raised paint flowers. Not signed and no marks noticed. No chips or cracks either! Tiny dimple/bump on back inside, looks like a bubble at first glance. Slightly unlevel on bottom if you sit and play with it. Weighs just ... moreunder 2 lbs.
