Antique office file cabinet1840's Chest vintage Primitive Apothecary Furniture
Here is a unique find a 36 drawer apothecary cabinet or what looks like it could have been an old school house filing cabinet dating back to the mid 1840's. The unit stands very heavy and sturdy at 79 and 1/4 inches talk. It's 25 1/2 inches wide and 10 inches deep. The drawers measure 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 and are nailed with those tiny old nails they are very sturdy as well. The piece does show two drawers with chipped corners and the sides of the cabinet have been painted and distressed a antique dark yellow almost almond mixed. It's a very nice find there are several dates on the drawers I am saying at least date the drawers back to the mid/ late 1840's shown in the photos are examples of ones I could capture on camera others are faint and hard to see without a magnifier or better light. Up for auction is a beautiful vintage 1930's- 40's solid maple office desk chair made by the Derby Furniture Co of Gardner. Mass. This chair is beautiful and well made. Very stylish and has a great vintage look that would go great with an old roll top desk or oak desk. Measures 34" tall x 18" deep x 22 1/2" wide. Very sturdy and the craftsmanship is excellent.
