The chair is a bit unsturdy. But I believe a pro can work their magic. Unique feet on chair. I tried to take the picture from all angles. The swivel seat appears to have been reattached possibly. I'm not sure if it was simply reattached or replaced because the screw in that section appear to be fairly modern. so please view pictures carefully. This lovely oak swivel office chair may be an early Heywood Bros& Wakefield Co(Heywood-Wakefield) but it bears no tag or marking. We have seen photos of similar chairs that date 1880s-1920s but cannot verify the age of this chair. The seat and back are drilled for caning. The cane is gone and the seat and backrest have been reupholstered with dark brown horse hide. The chair is ready for use. Or could be recaned. The wood in this chair is beautiful. The cast iron swivel and adjustable height mechanisms are in very good working order. The seat adjusts from 18.5" high from the floor to 22" when the swivel is half way up. The 7.25" long swivel can come all the way up to disassemble the legs from the seat. The mechanism also allows the chair to tilt back about 30 degrees. Made in America late 1950's to early 1960's. This is the more deluxe version of Singer/Bevco chairs that swivels and has backrest with adjustable height. Very good vintage condition. Springs on backrest are intact and strong(backrest swivels up/down to contour to your back) Sturdy chair that was built to last. Backrest also adjusts horizontally by loosening round knob under seat. Can be used with or without backrest. Leg tips are intact. Seat height adjusts from about 16" to 20" at mid seat. Seat is 16" across and 14" front to back. Legs are 21" apart. The wire frame is in excellent condition. With no cracks, breaks, or repairs. It shows minimal light scratches/scuffs from use. There is no rust. The original plastic glider pads on the bottoms of the legs are missing and there have been new rubber pads installed at some point in time. The swivel feature is in great working condition. This chair has its original brown vinyl one piece back and seat cushion. It also has brown vinyl arm cusions as well. This chair measures 42" tall and 33" at the widest point. I would guess this chair to be from the 1950's or 1960's. This is such a great chair. It came from an estate sale. When i saw the great shape and design. Plus, it is comfortable, I had to have it. Made I believe in the late 60's or early 70's. Based on the other chairs I have seen and the materials used during that time. Made of ribbed vinyl(when vinyl was good) the armrests have some tiny tears from wear. The flat chrome has some age spots that probably could be rubbed out. The base is sturdy aluminum and steel which swivels. The base is well constructed and sturdy. On the end of each leg is a metal leveler. Height 31 inches Width(seat) 23inches Width(with chrome) 27 inches Someone needs this chair for modern decor in a living room. Apartment, dorm room. 2 vintage HERMAN MILLER Eames Mid-century Modern pac-1 swivel SHELL arm CHAIR for auction is a set of 2 Herman Miller Shell Arm Chairs. I believe they are 1970's… and I think they are called pac-1…not sure.I don't know about these things. They are a blue naugahyde with a white fiberglass shell body. Black rubber trim. I think the swivel bases are made of aluminum… they have the white plastic feet. Marked HERMAN MILLER S on both with the logo. One still has the patent sticker on it. One also has some stamped numbers… looks like a 73 171 4…cant make it out. see pics. Condition Upholstry- has seen better days… see rips in the seams as shown Trim- VG shape…minor knocks from usage. Shells- Great shape…no damage has 4 of 8 original rubber o rings.others were replaced and 8 new screws. Base- VG shape with some pitting from age. Has 7 out ... moreof the 8 white feet(one broke off) Sold as pictured. Estimating shipping at $75. might be more going west.as stated below.
