The base appears to be distressed to look old to match the tapestry. The trim around the stool is beautiful. It also has nail heads on either side. Actual age is unknown. Vintage Wood 3 Leg Piano Stool Stand Base Steel Braces Wooden Wheels Steampunk
This auction is for what looks like a vintage 3 legged piano stool/stand base made of oak with a steel tripod brace and wood wheels. Each leg is all one piece of wood with beautiful grain. The brace is rough steel pressed together with no welds. The wheels are made of wood with metal support casters. One wheel has a misshapen center hole. Being oval and not round. I believe this was simply a manufacturer's defect because there is no cracks in this wheel. All three wheels have a round exterior surface with no flat spots or cracks. It stands 13 1.2 inches high from the ground, and about 20 inches separate each wheel from the other in a straight line. The only flaw is that the six bolts and nuts holding the legs to the brace need to be tightened. Retro 1950s nice small rattan seat over flared maple legs stool. Attributed to Tony Paul. It is unsigned. The tripod legs unscrew from seat bottom, see photo. It measures 10 3/4" tall x 12" diameter. There are some black marks on bottom-just looks like scribble. These stools were manufactured in the Netherlands in the 50s. Very collectible, this one is in good used shape, shows appropriate wear and use. No damage, rattan is in great shape, some wear to finish on legs. Use as stool, side table, foot stool, etc. Tony Paul was known as an Industrial designer. These came in different sizes, find larger ones and stack one on the other.
