There is a pretty carved rose at the very center top and leather on the armrests as well. The prior owner chose to paint the wood an off-white color. Shabby chic, and the chair is factory distressed. The chair measures 25" wide x 28" deep x 40" high. The seat width is 21 1/2" between the arms and 19 1/2" deep. The chair is very heavy and comfortable. The base allows you to swivel and rock. The chair is found on page#186 of the 96th edition Ethan Allen Treasury of American Home Interiors catalog. Very cool vintage MCM desk chair in fabulous kelly green nubby fabric(most likely wool) No label but most likely by Steelcase. And after the Charles Pollock Executive Chair for Knoll(without the buttons on the back) The fabric is a thick weave in a great, bold shade of green, most likely wool. The base is chrome(needs a little steel wool love, but in good shape) There is a handle beneath the seat to control the tilt. Good vintage condition. Upholstery needs a good vacuuming or ideally steam cleaning— but no tears or rips to fabric. And no major stains. Biggest“concern” is the rubber trim on the backside upper edge got too close to something hot and melted in a 2" segment(see photos) Still has tons of life left. This is a very cool industrial desk chair by the Sturgis Posture Chair Company. It's in good original condition with wear shown in photos. Everything works as it should. The chair swivels and tilts with tilt adjustment. The backrest can be moved up and down. The chairs reclining angle can be changed via a knob under the chair. And the seat height is adjustable. The vinyl does have splits at the front corners, but the seat and backrest are in good shape. Seat is inner sprung and is very comfy. Has an awesome light green fiberglass propeller base with heavy visible fibers. There are some knicks in the wheels but the chair rolls very smoothly, there are no flat spots. The red bentwood piece is 38 1/2" long; 10 1/4" wide at the top and the bentwood piece between the ends is 2" wide. Label is missing(was this way when I got it) The base is held on with a couple of non-original bolts on front, and the feet are newer plastic replacements, but otherwise it appears to be all original. The legs are solid iron rods. Chair is being offered with free local pickup on the northwest side of Chicago. I have tried to remove the legs for shipping. But I cannot get the screws to come out. I believe they were the same company that did the work in the lobby of the Empire State Building when it was being constructed. Solid welded Aluminum Propeller base.
