Pfeiffer Balzers TPH 050 Turbomolecular Turbo Vacuum Pump For sale is a TPH 050 turbomolecular pump made by Pfeiffer Balzers with a mounted fan for cooling. It was acquired several ago in the quest to build piece-by-piece a high vacum system for an engineering project. Except for the inlet flange. This pump is exactly the same as the TPU 050. The inlet has an ISO-K 63 flange and a splinter shield installed for protection against solid objects. The outlet and venting flanges are KF-16 and KF-10, respectively. The nominal volume flow rate is 50 l/s. A final pressure of 1 x 10^-8 mbar can be achieved with the use of a dual-stage rotary vane backing pump and a Viton seal gasket for the inlet. This pump can driven by a Pfeiffer TCP-040. TCP-120 or TCP-121 controller. Since I never had the chance to acquire any of these controllers, I followed ... morethe procedure outlined in the manuals for the TCP-120/121 to test the pump without the controller. All measurements made are within the ranges given in the procedure. The motor of the pump has four stator coils and they all have continuity. This stator configuration makes me think that this is likely a two-phase induction motor. The pump is equiped with temperature sensors and two Hall sensors and they all check out good. Listed below are the measurements. Motor coil 1: 1 ohm- Motor coil 2: 1 ohm- Motor coil 3: 1 ohm- Motor coil 4: 1 ohm- Temperature Sensors: 129 ohms(100 ohms. 300 ohms) Hall sensor path: 157 ohms(100 ohms. 200 ohms) Hall sensor output 1: 48 ohms(20 ohms. 55 ohms) Hall sensor output 2: 40 ohms(20 ohms. 55 ohms) Feedback resistor: 0 ohm To test the Hall sensors. The sensors are supplied with a constant current of 38 mA. Product Description This is a Ball Aerospace Systems- Turbo pump station. The pumping station consists of a Phieffer/Balzers TPU050 Turbo Pump w/ Model TCP121 Turbo pump controller. The Turbo is backed by a Pheiffer/Balzers Model DUO 1.5A mechanical pump. A liquid Nitrogen cold trap is mounted on top of the turbo pump. It is supplied with a JC Controls LN2 liquied level controller. An electropnuematic gatevalve isolates the pumping stack from the stainless steel user interface cross with 4.5 conflat flanges. The turbo pump foreline pressure is monitored via a Granville Phillips Modle 275 analog gauge. The cross pressure is monitored by a Granville Phillips Model 280 Ion Gauge controller and nude ion gauge tube. A manual vent valve is supplied to vent the cross back to atmoshphere.
