Here is a Gibson GA-5 SKYLARK Tube amplifier. It is partially restored. I have replaced the Electrolytic caps. Power switch and added a grounded electrical cord. The rest of the amp is orignal. The amp plays very loud, with some tube distortion as you turn it up. The tubes are 1) 12AX7A Black Plate Raytheon and 2) 6BQ5 RCA. All tubes test Good. Tube Sockets are in great shape and hold the tubes tightly. Low treble and medium bass sound good to me on this amp. I usually ship by USPS. You will only pay for actual shipping. Very nice quality and complete Magnavox 150-BB vintage 1960s dual channel tube amp. I pulled this amp from a Top of the Line Magnavox console. This amp is loaded with vintage USA 1960s tubes. There are 5 Silver Top 6V6s. Labeled Magnavox(made by GE or RCA) 5U4 rectifier tubes, 1 12AT7 and 1 6ATS. This amp has nice hammertone gray paint that needs cleaning. The transformers have some surface rust, but the chassis has no rust-just needs a good cleaning. It features very nice quality and heavy duty transformers, beautiful point to point wiring. This amp is a dual power amp. It uses 4 6V6s for the main power amp, and 1 6V6 to power the horn that was included in the console. The speaker configuration was 1 15" woofer, 1 6" midrange and 1 2x4 Jensen horn tweeter. This amp has the octal speaker sockets included. Bought this little amp new in 2009. Mainly just to get the Mackie Tracktion software that came with it(I'm not including the software in this auction) I played with it for a little while and then packed it away. Just brought it out again and it works fine. EXCEPT that some of the built-in DSP effects seem to be off- they work on some channels but not on others. Otherwise no problems, and i t's still under the five year transferable warranty. Sorry. I can't ship outside the continental US, so no international buyers. 1954 Gibson GA 5 Les Paul Junior Amp Restored by Buffalo Amps
The original Gibson GA 5 Les Paul Junior Amp from 1954. It was a basket case that I shipped to Rob at Buffalo Amps to have restored. It has been recovered in his own version of Gibson's"Shaved Poodle" tolex and uses a slightly larger ceramic speaker(6x9) than the original one that came with the amp(3x6) Tube compliment is NOS 6v6 and 6sl7 with a solid state rectifier in place of the 5y3. The solid state rectifier allows clearance of the larger ceramic magnet( the one that improves the lows and overall tone) This amp was the GA 5 that was featured on his website. I will include an extra 6sl7 in the sale. These amps have a sweet mellow tone that you just can't find in new amps outside boutique builds. Due largely to that 6sl7 pre amp. The larger speaker really allows this amp to sound much bigger, smooth and mellow. The amp ... morehas normal gentle wear with 1 ding on the top right front which does not come out in photos, due to the shaved poodle tolex. I am including Gerald Weber's"Desktop Reference of Hip Vintage Guitar Amps" to keep it fun. This amp is essentialy the same circuit as the original F* Champ 800 Amp which is is in the book. JiveBomber 5 W all-tube guitar amp w/ 8" vintage speaker.
JiveBomber amplifiers come in an unlimited variety of shapes. Sizes, and power. They all share loving care in their rebuilding and conversion from their previous intended use. When the final dab of solder cooled on this one, and the last screw was tightened, I plugged in my Tele, fired it up and played. And then I laughed with sheer joy. You will. Too. This little amp is so delightful to play that I wouldn't dream of selling it unless I had another chassis exactly alike for myself. I haven't found many of the original amp chassis from which this one was built, but now that I've heard it, the hunt is on. It's my favorite kind of 5 watt guitar amp: all-tube. With a vintage 5Y3 rectifier, a single Sylvania 6V6GT in Class A/ single-end mode, a 12AX7 RCA and a 12AU7 Sylvania in the preamp. And it absolutely HOWLS. The only fair ... moreway to describe the sound output is BLISTERING. There aren't a lot of clean sounds in this amplifier except at lower volumes, or with your guitar's volume knob turned down. But the sound it produces is searing, defined, sustainful, and all blues, all the time. And it will get loud enough to rock a small club, or a large room. Put reverb and tremolo pedals in front of it, and it sounds like a $1,500 vintage amp. At idle, it's DEAD quiet, thanks to new capacitors, cleaned pots, care in shielding, and a grounded power cord. It's easy to use: the tone pot doubles as a power on/off, a big red jewel light tells you it's ready to rock, and it has a volume control. Two 1/4" inputs are up front, and on the back, a standard 1/4" jack for output to an 8 ohm cabinet. Plugging in an extension cabinet disconnects the internal 8" speaker, so no worries about impedance mismatches. I tried plugging in a crystal element microphone to see if it would make a good harp amp. And I got a lot of feedback. I think there's too much gain in the preamp section to make a harp amp from. Perhaps it would do better with a lower-Z microphone element than what I have. I'

I've had it in my closet since 1983. I call it a"Rat Rod" because it's well worn but it's all there under the hood. I just went through it and did a cap job. The original cap can is still there intact. I bypassed it with fresh electrolytics. They say. Just gone through and given a clean bill of health. This one has been gone through and given a clean bill of health. All original electronics are there and intact. I didn't change anything that didn't need to be changed. This still has the orignal two conductor power cord, the original loose covering, the original finger jointed pine cabinet and the original rust on the ... morecontrol panel. Astonishingly it's nice and clean inside. The surfaces of the chassis inside the cabinet are shiny. The outside surfaces are obviously weathered. This is not a loud amp! Great bedroom amp. It has a 1962 Oaktron 8" eight inch) alnico speaker. It's not a"loud" speaker. It would probably be twice as loud with a modern speaker such as a Weber or WGS. Supro used grid leak bias on the preamp years after other manufacturers switched to cathode bias. That results in a seething distortion tone. It's a'60s amp with a'50s circuit. It absolutely nails Clapton's recent blues tone with my Stratocaster. It does so at a lower volume than any of my other 5 watt amps. Tube lineup is 12AX7. 6V6 and 5Y3. This will be shipped with quality U.S. made tubes contemporary to the amp. This item is USED and will be sold in"AS-IS" condition. Just because I'm a technician doesn't mean you can have a line out or an FX loop on this. I spent a full day on it already. It's a crude old amp. It is what it is. It has been freshly serviced. These Valco made Gretsch's are a very similar circuit to tweed champs(imagine that) and therefore have that to die for tweed. Low wattage saturation that is so sought after. That rich overdrive sound you hear on records isn't from a pedal, it's from low wattage Champs and Valcos running at 10. A vintage 1964 Gretsch 6150T tube amplifier in good condition. You are bidding on a really cool piece. This is the Vintage'64 Gibson Skylark GA-5T Tremolo Electric Guitar Tube Amplifier Project. The Gibson Skylarks are highly regarded among tube amp players. Point to point wired. 10 tube driven watts running to the 10" speaker. 2 6eu7's, 2 6au7's, and a 6x4. The very simple control layout makes it really easy to get your tone- just Volume and Tremolo. This Skylark is missing the fuse cap. When tested, it produced a raspy, almost octave divider tone and had an internal'crackling' sound. The'head' is also not screwed into the enclosure. Hello. And welcome to my auction. Today, I have a Jet City Amplification PicoValve guitar amplifier head up for bids. This item is used, but in very good to excellent physical and working condition. The PicoValve is modeled after the THD Univalve amp, and was designed by Andy Marshall and licensed by THD Electronics. The PicoValve is a compact, low-wattage tone machine capable of being run in a pentode(5 watt) or triode(2.5 watt) configuration. The low wattage options mean you can get that cranked tube amp sound without blowing your eardrums out in the process, which makes these amps great for practicing at home, or recording. It features a 5w/2.5w power selector switch, preamp gain, bass, middle, treble, bright switch, and master volume controls. You have a variety of speaker outputs at 4, 8, and 16 ohms, giving you more flexibility on the ... moretype of cabinet you want to run it out to. Topping it all off, the chassis and cage housing are made of cold rolled steel, giving this thing a pretty cool look. The amp normally comes stock with a 6L6 tube in the power section, and two 12AX7s in the preamp. The cheesy original preamp tubes got swapped with an RCA 12AX7A, and a Sovtek 12AX7WB while trying to get some different sounds. This current set up does a nice job getting that thick, overdriven tone that I prefer. You can also experiment with swapping the power tube with nearly any octal-based tube, without having to re-bias the amp. This is another aspect of the amp that makes it unique, and gives you a lot of options in shaping your sound. Overall, it’s a pretty neat little amp that’s big on tone, small on size, and easy on the ears. Hello, How are you doing? Up for auction today we have a vintage Vox AC 4 serial number 3089. This is a working vintage amp with all original electronics with mustard caps and transformers and elac speaker. This is the way that I received the amplifier and I have done nothing to it. The grill cloth was changed I have the original brown grill cloth and will include it in the sale. Also the plastic vents were changed but I have the original plastic vents and I will include these in the sale as well. Overall this amp is in excellent condition with only one slight tolex scuff on the left side(looking straight at the front) It has had a 3 wire power cord added and a fuse prior to my receiving it. I took it down assuming I would have no problem locating th ese things. As the fuse(a 1amp slo blo) is very easy to locate I still had issues figuring out what ap propriate fuse cap/holder I needed and I ha d trouble fin ding o ne. So. With thi s info. I have the same awesome li ttle Gibson amp ava ilable again. I belie ve the fuse and holder is all you'll need to get it up and running but I a m not absol utely sure. So. This is a fifty year old amp and truly about MINT condition. Everything works great. It does still have a 2 prong plug on it so I suggest if you were going to keep it and use it to change it out for safety reasons. This amp is a studio must. The amp is in amazing shape. Never left my smoke free home, no tears, rips, etc to the tolex, this is about as close to new as you get. no issues. Changed parts, or not even many hours on the tubes.
