This is a super nice Winston Boron II-MX 9' 5 weight 4 pc. rod. I purchased this 6 months ago and have never used it! It has been lawn cast but shows no wear what so ever. It comes with the tube. Winston IM6 XD 9' 12wt 6 3/8oz fly rod. Has very miner wear to handle. Serial number 13275. Rod is in excellent condition. The rod was produced in early 1990 from an IM6 blank supplied to Winston by G. Loomis. The XD(eXtra Distance) rods were composed of a stiffer graphite layup and had a faster action for distance casting than the"normal" IM6 rods. Hence the"XD" moniker. The XD is one of the more rare IM6 era models. This is a great rod to fish, collect, or both. This rod is 9' two peice and an excellent choice for large saltwater game including tarpon.

This is fresh from a La Grange Estate Sale. I do not collect fishing stuff nor do I fish so look at the pictures and ask questions and I will answer as best I can. This is a R. L. Winston rod. I am calling this vintage based on the wood handles and I think this is made from split bamboo? I am not certain if it is a saltwater rod but it is rather stout and I can not imagine this is a freshwater rod. This looks to me to be all original except for the roll of tape at the base of the rod. The rod is about 7 feet 4 inches long when assembled. A quick look on ebay doesn't show me anything equivalent but if you are looking at this auction you likely know more than I do about it. I am not sure what to say about condition. I looked over the rod blank under a bright light and saw no cracks or breaks. As for the finish, I saw a couple little scratches in the clear coat,after all it has been used, but they don't look fatal.
