Depression Era Weston Electric Meter 622, 1940, Steampunk Doner Device?
Here is a neat meter from 1940! This one works but it needs the paper behind the meter flattened out as it has a slight curl in it that tends to hang up the meter in action. This meter is large. Weighs over 7 pounds and has a Bakelite case with a leather handle. Inside the lid it is dated 1940 and carries a serial number in red of 57046. I believe this was used with the W.P.A. Antique Weston Electrical Volt meter made for WESTERN ELECTRIC exposed mechanism
I have for auction a great early piece of telephone history. Here is a Weston Electrical Instrument Corp. Newark, NJ, U.S.A. 1000. OHMS PER VOLT meter made for WESTERN ELECTRIC. Last patent July 16. 1901. This is a really unique old meter in that the working mechanism is exposed. The brass face has a combination of painted and engraved lettering and is held in place by two brass screws. The face is cut out to reveal the working mechanism and the meter hand is probably painted silver. It is in a painted brass case with two original soldered connections on the back including nuts. Bolts, washers, connectors and wire. The glass face is free from any cracks or damage but if you look closely the inside of the glass shows some dirt. It measures 2 and 3/16 inches in diameter. Vintage Lot of 3 Weston Electric Amp and Volt meter, Steampunk electrical gauge
This is a small lot of 3 Weston Electric meters. I have no way of testing these meter but they do appear to be in good condition with no dents. Dings, chips, cracks, or rust, but there are some scuffs and scratches from use. The smallest meter marked U.S.N. TYPE CV-22427 ZERO POWER LEVEL 6 MW. 600 OHMS. MODEL 506 has a diameter of 2 11/16" across the face. The other gauge marked MILLIAMPERES D.C. MODEL 616 no. 2897 measures 3 1/4" across the face. The last gauge is marked WESTON VOLTMETER MODEL 301 NO. 319095 and measures 3 1/4" across the face. These would also work great for an industrial or steam punk style art project. Rare. Weston Electric, Model 633, attachable amp gauge with storage box. Gauge is untested. Box fits item like a glove, is constructed of wood, with leather handle, and copper brackets. Hinges appear to be of brass construct, while front clasp also looks to be of brass construction, but I am not certain. I have done nothing more then to wipe the instrument down. And impregnate the wood with Formby's. A nice, vintage, art deco style instrument gauge with accompanying box. Research has yielded no example with companion box.
