Antique vtg MOISTURE REGISTER CO Lumber Timber Moisture Meter W case Steam-punk
For sale is this vintage Moisture Register meter. Both pieces appear to be made of made of cast aluminum. It comes with the original paperwork as shown. I'm uneducated on how to use such an instrument. So it is listed as untested, as-is. The case is in good condition and measures 12.25 x 9 x 6.5" This weighs 12.2 lbs before packaging. 1950 Vtg Electronic Moisture Register Co. Model RF4 Original Wood Box I love going to auctions and picking up oddball electronic equipment. Here is something I had never seen. Nor heard of before. In its original wood box is an electronic moisture register model RF-4. All original. Operating instructions and calibration charts are included. It was made by the Moisture Register Co. Alhambra.California. According to the manual it was produced in 1950. I have no idea if it works or not as the battery pack that came with it is dead. It obviously belonged to the military at one time as it has scratched on the side U.S. Army Property. All of the metal contacts on the tester are spring loaded and do compress. The tester is 3 1/2" diameter x 6 3/4" long. The reader 9 3/4" long x 3 3/4" wide. The felt lined wood box has a loose ... morepiece inside as shown. The canvas covered wood box is in a little bit of rough condition. I have shown all sides for your benefit. The case measures approximately 13 1/2" long x 8 3/4" wide x 6" high. For sale is a vintage Electronic Moisture Register model L serial number 1944. The meter is in good condition with normal wear. Please look at all of the photos. I plugged the meter in and squeezed the handle. The needle would move according to how far you turned the adjust nob. If I turned the adjust nob all the way to the right. The needle would go all the way to the right. I assume that it is working properly, but I am not an expert with this type of equipment. Awesome old lumber wood mill instrument K2D lumber moisture register Made in California by Moisture Register Co. See photos for details because i know nothing about it. I got this right out of a lumber shop estate sale from the working mill area. So it may actually work but I know nothing about them so I must sell as is. The meter needle moves. The black button pushes but the white knob is stiff. Thanks for looking
